QB Not Saving

QB is not saving my work. It gives me a partial reconcile after Ive already finished and I open it up the next day it shows a partial reconcile. Now it also is not saving invoices or deposits.  It's on a MAC sop I don't know if the update has messed it up or what. Anyone elected have this trouble?

QB Not Saving

Thanks for reaching out, Nodie.

Before we start, could you please specify what version of QBDT Mac you're currently using? This will help determine the root cause of your concern.

It's also worth noting that earlier versions of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2023 will no longer receive updates, maintenance releases, or technical support. Other services tied to these versions, such as payroll, bank feeds, and other features, have also been discontinued.

In the meantime, let's run the Verify and Rebuild process on your company data to resolve any underlying data integrity issues that are causing the problem.

Here's how to verify your company file data:

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data, then click OK to close all windows.
  3. If you see a message indicating " Your data has failed the integrity check", let's continue rebuilding your company file. Otherwise, it's all good.

Next, let's proceed to rebuild your company file data by following these steps:

  1. Go to the File, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, then click OK to close all windows.
  3. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup copy of your company file before rebuilding your data, then select OK.
    • If you haven't set up any backup preferences, QuickBooks will ask you to update them. Select Backup Preferences and edit as needed, then click OK.
    • When the backup's finished, select Show in Finder to locate the backup or select OK if you're done.
  4. Once you've completed all the steps, select OK.

When the rebuilding phase is complete, you can revisit the reconciliation page and resume your work.

Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance.

QB Not Saving

I know how challenging it can be to experience a problem with reconciling and being unable to save your transactions, particularly when relying on QuickBooks to manage these tasks, Nodie.

As mentioned by my colleague above, versions of QuickBooks from 2023 or earlier have already been discontinued. QuickBooks has system requirements and compatibility guidelines for macOS or any desktop versions. Older or unsupported versions of QuickBooks can face problems such as losing access to live technical support, Intuit services, online bank feeds, and core functionalities. Therefore, this is the reason you’re encountering unsaved work, even after completing it.

You can check this article for the detailed information about the discontinuation: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

For your additional information, please note that there is no available current release version for macOS. However, if you’d like to continue managing your tasks on QuickBooks, I suggest exploring our available pricing plans for supported versions.
