QuickBooks Online Importing

Is it possible to import all historical data from one QB Online to a new one for the same company?   Our current QB Online is not working and tech support has no solution.   We would like to create a new QB Online and import all the data out of the old one.

QuickBooks Online Importing

We appreciate you posting your concern here in the QuickBooks Community, @JP141. Let me share some steps and information about importing and exporting your data.

Yes, we can export and then import your company data to your new QBO account. If you're using the Advanced version, you can use the back up and restore feature to move your company data. For the detailed instructions, check out this article: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced Company. If you're using other versions, we can only move the lists. However, we can utilize a third-party app or manually add your transactions to the new QBO account.

You can follow these steps to export:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Export data.
  3. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the switch on and off.
  5. Hit Export to Excel.

It will prompt you that the export is successful. If you want to download other reports to Excel, please refer to this article on how:
