Hello, userjon-ferris.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. If you are trying to invite a user or accountant to your QuickBooks Online account and receive a message stating that they are not authorized or that there is no such company, there could be a few possible reasons for this issue:

  • Verify user permissions: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to invite users or accountants to your QuickBooks Online account. Only users with the appropriate access rights can invite others.
  • Confirm the company exists: Make sure that the company you are trying to invite the user or accountant to exists in your QuickBooks Online account. Double-check the company name and ensure it is spelled correctly.
  • Check for account limitations: Some QuickBooks Online subscription plans limit the number of users or accountants that can be invited. Verify that you have not exceeded your plan's allowed number of users or accountants.

If you have checked all of the above and are still experiencing issues, Let's open your account using a private browser or an incognito browser. This way, we can isolate this unexpected issue for possible browser-related. You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Microsoft Edge: Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it works, you'd want to let your authorized users clear their browser's cache. Also, you can use other supported web browsers

I've added these articles as additional resources for managing your authorized users:

My issue with adding a new user, is that the roles are not coming up to display. When I try adding a new user, the green loading sign keeps running under "Roles", not allowing me to select a previously created role. Even when I try editing existing user's roles, it does not let me do so. Can you please advise?

Hello, david385. We can manage the user's role (permissions) by logging in as Master admin (Primary admin) in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. By doing so, you'll have full access and control over all the user's permissions in your QBO company.

First, let's try logging out and signing in again with your QBO account. After that, check if the user's permissions are already visible on your screen when adding or editing an existing user's role. However, if the result is still the same, we can try to log into your QBO account using a private browser.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If you can successfully access the user's permissions, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If the issue persists, you can consider using another supported browser.

In addition, I added an article in case you need to add accountant users in QuickBooks Online.
