Chart of accounts not populating when

Is anyone else having issues with the chart of accounts not populating in the account field when booking a deposit or writing a check?  Yesterday, this function worked fine.  Now, only bank accounts are showing up and you have to add other accounts like "income".  Even when you add the income account, it doesn't save.  It becomes very time consuming when booking a deposit to several general ledger accounts.  I get a message to "see and add more categories".

I am having the same issue. I don't know why this change was made but it really needs to be fixed. It is a huge time suck for us as well.

I had the same problem and had to call support. I learned this is another of Intuit's "upgrades".

In the Deposit window, click on the dropdown arrow in the Account field. For me, the bank accounts populate plus there is a link to: See and Add More Categories. Clicking on this link opens a popup to the Chart of Accounts categories. Click the correct category; Income, Expense, etc. From there the user must hunt and peck for the correct account, including opening more lists for subaccounts. Once the user finds the correct account they must highlight it/check it off, scroll to the bottom of the popup window and click the green Select button.

I have concerns about this change:

1. Users do not understand the popup leads to the existing COA and will add new accounts in an effort to record their transaction. This is the very reason this thread began.

2. Previously I was recording the account number or account name to populate the Account field. This new process adds 6 to 10 times the time to record a transaction due to all the clicking and searching involved, just to record an account in a field.

3. Changes like this show the true disdain that Intuit has for users. User are left with not understanding and ruining the COA or wasting billable time stumbling through an unnecessary process. How do you justify this, Intuit?

Intuit, the poor planning and design are truly exhausting for everyday users. The time has come-users are seeking competitors and I am right there. I just can't take it anymore.

@jkolbow   While that is helpful information, mine (and a LOT of others) legit has nothing in the "See and add more..." link.  My only option there is to add new.  That would duplicate EVERY account I need.  It is actually not an upgrade.  It is broken, and Intuit/ QB knows it.

I agree - we were adding each account from that pop up menu as we added lines to our deposit but it is WAY too tedious and time consuming.  Especially, when you add the account, it doesn't save it for the next line.  It just defaults back to the dropdown where no accounts come up...

Please notice I put "Upgrade" in quotes...which I meant as not an upgrade at all.

Is it possible your system is blocking the popup? Here is what mine looks like.

There is another thread, concerning the same issue.  Someone from QB said that they know about the issue, and are investigating.  You can contact QB and get added to the list, so you will receive updates as to when it will be fixed.   INV-83973
