It's good to see you here in the Community, info-bbcosm.

I'd gladly assist you in sorting out this issue when trying to create a scheduled report QuickBooks Online. What report are you trying to set up? This way, I can provide you with an accurate resolution.

In the meantime, let's do some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a browser-related concern. First, log into your QBO account using a private window. Use either of these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito window, depending on your browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

If you can see the Edit option, return to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use another supported, up-to-date browser to narrow down the results.

Otherwise, you'll want to check your access rights in QBO. This might be why you're unable to edit custom reports.

Once settled, this article can guide you further on sending an individual report: Set a schedule and email information for a memorized report.

To print reports moving forward, refer to this helpful resource: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It includes insights on exporting and emailing them for future tasks.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
1. I verified that I see the same (only ability to delete (standalone button) or add to management reports (in the dropdown next to delete button) from the private browser window (which does not save cookies)
2. I am admin (and the only user for now) of the QBO and suppose to have all rights.
I will appreciate if you have any other suggestions. Thanks.

Has there been a fix for this yet (as of May 14)?

I need the edit capability for custom reports.

We appreciate you for joining us here in the thread, @dannok. Let me give you an insight regarding the capability of editing when customizing a report to set an email schedule in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please remember the following information: If your custom report is in classic view, you will see the Edit option. However, if you are using a modern view, you will only see a delete option and won't be able to edit it. If the custom report is already in classic view but you still can't edit it, you may consider performing browser troubleshooting steps for a fix. The browser's cache can become filled and cause problems when working your QBO account. You can run QBO in a private or incognito browsing mode to help your computer run optimally and regain some storage space to continue working seamlessly.

See these keyboard shortcuts to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

For a detailed step-by-step process in clearing your cache, check out this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

After following the suggested steps and the problems still exist, I recommend reaching the support team. They can help you investigate this matter thoroughly and will give you steps in resolving this. Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks, click Help (?).
  2. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

Once accessing a report, you can have a physical copy by printing it, which can be useful for keeping records.

We're glad to have been able to assist you. We want to ensure you have the best possible experience with our software. Please feel free to reach out if you have other concerns about customizing a report through QuickBooks.
