Hi, @me96.
I’m glad to know you're considering switching over to the online platform. Let me add some additional information on how to migrate from the desktop version to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Before we start migrating to QuickBooks Online, let's update your file by getting the trial versions. It's recommended to only move up every 3 years.
Alternatively, if your using Desktop Pro Plus, you can look for a third-party app from our Apps for QuickBooks Desktop that can help you with the migration process.
You can also contact our Customer Service Team to walk you through on getting this accomplished.
After creating a QBO account, follow the steps outlined in the following article to import or migrate your company file: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online. It contains tutorials that will walk you through the steps visually.
Once done, see the following article to check what information doesn't convert when you migrate: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
I’m adding an article to help you in the future. It contains resources to get acclimated to the processes and features in QuickBooks Online: Get started.
Keep in touch if you have clarifications about the migration process. I’m more than happy to answer them for you. Keep safe and have a good one!
