what is this magic app?
Thanks for joining in this conversation, @talltenor. As mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA in his post, you'll want to use the trial version of a 3rd party app to integrate with your QBO and export the TXF file for TurboTax.
You'll want to search this app online or from the marketplace.
I'm always around here to be your guide if you have any additional or other concerns. Take care!
Please point me to the app….

Quickbooks Enterprise trial now has a welcome screen that causes an error with the migration tool.
Is this solution still viable or is it now impossible for quickbooks online users to get their data into turbotax using this method?
Is this still possible? QuickBooks Enterprise trial now has a homepage with options that you are returned to when you close the company. Trying to run the migration tool on this homepage causes an internal error.
Thank you for posting in this thread, NMThom.
I'd like to share some insights about exporting data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to TurboTax.
Currently, the ability to link or integrate QuickBooks Online (QBO) to Turbo tax is unavailable.
As workaround, you can convert your QBO data to a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop. From there you can export your data to TurboTax. Here's an article you can use as reference: How do I import QuickBooks data into TurboTax Business?
You may consider using a third-party app to integrate it with QBO and import its data to TurboTax.
I'll be around if you still need help or if you have other questions about managing your data. Have great day!
Can you PM the third party app? Our company is attempting to export from QuickBooks Online to TurboTax for Business 2021. According to some of the forums this doesn't work for many other customers. Has anyone at Intuit ever tested this process of exporting from QBO to TT Business 2021?!?
Reference pages that we've tried:
1. Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop - https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/export-conve...
2. Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise - https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/new-subscriptions/download-trial-quic...
Fully agree. Unbelievable that Quickbooks hasn't dealt with this. I purposely purchased Turbotax for my business' 2021 tax year assuming that it would seemlessly upload from Quickbooks. WTF???
I have followed your instructions to migrate QBO to QBDE in order to get Business Expenses imported into TurboTax 2020.
Today, the 30-Day Trial of QBDE is the 2022 version that does is not compatible with TurboTax 2020.
I have contacted QBDE support to request a trial version of 2021 but they said it was not available.
This thread needs to be revisited with up-to-date information on what people can do other than input all their info from QBO to TurboTax 2020.
You would think that Intuit would want to make deducting business expenses such as software subscriptions as pain-free as possible.
Contact us in private and we may share the trial version for QB Desktop 2021.
Please PM me the information about the 3rd party app (having no luck with Desktop QB)
Would also like to be emailed the name of the bookkeeping app
Please email the name of the bookkeeping app
Can you please share how to do this?
I'm delighted to assist you, @rockstardesigns.
Could you please tell me what your specific goal is? Any more information you can give me will help me provide you with the best information and steps to solve your problems. So, you can pick up right where you left off.
I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, and stay safe at all times.
Hey there! Do you mind sending me the bookkeeping app in question? Thank you! This has been an absolute nightmare and I have been cautioning every small business owner I know to stop using QBO until a better solution is offered.
Can you PM me the name of the bookkeeping app that does this process also.
Hello,
I joined here just to get this info but I don't think I can send you a PM, or figure out how to.
Can you please try and PM that info?
I'm trying to help my sister get her QBO data into TT, her and her husband are getting very frustrated!
It is better now to convert your data from QB Online to QB Desktop prior to transfer data to TurboTax. You can use the trial version for QB Desktop 2021 to convert data from QB Online. Click on my profile name and you will find our website address to send an email to. Contact me in private if you need assistance.
Thanks, we're trying that now. If we run into any issues we'll send an email.
Thanks!
Edit: That didn't work, apparently they've tried the trial version before and it comes up as expired when trying now.
You can use the trial version for QBD 2021 Pro, QBD 2021 Enterprise, QBD 2022 Enterprise, or QBD 2023 Enterprise.
