how do i link a item (or income account) to a Accounts reservable account?

I run the books for a non for profit, I set up 2 A R accounts, 1 for the general account an one for the Budling fund.

how could i link that every item or income account should go to its right AR account?

for example i have a item called "Membership" (set as a service) that is linked to the membership income account how do i set that this should always go to the GA AR and a pledge towards the budling fund should always go to the Budling fund AR?

@MMK48   They answer that @CamelleT  and @Aldren18   Are dancing around it NO, you can't automatically set those invoices to go to different A/R accounts.  It can only be done individually.

It’s fantastic that you are dedicating time to optimizing your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) setup, MMK48. Let’s work together on linking your items to the appropriate Accounts Receivable (A/R) for seamless financial tracking.

When managing two A/R accounts, the only way to record your item to the correct account receivable is to manually assign each transaction to the correct A/R account during invoice creation. This proactive approach significantly enhances the clarity and accuracy of your financial reporting.

For detailed steps, here’s how you can link your items to the correct A/R accounts:

  1. Navigate to Customers and click on Create Invoices.
  2. In the Account dropdown, select the appropriate A/R account for the item.
  3. Fill out all necessary fields in the invoice.
  4. Click on Save and Close to complete the process.

Furthermore, I've compiled some valuable resources to help you understand basic reports and how to customize them in QuickBooks Desktop. These guides enhance your reporting skills and ensure you get the most out of your QuickBooks experience.
