When running the general ledger data, you'll want to select or enable the Split column inside the report. Doing this allows you to add another detail to your financial report. I'll outline the steps to get you going:

  2. On the left navigational bar, click the Reports tab.
  3. In the Search bar, enter General Ledger and then click on the report.
  4. Click the Customize button and then inside the Rows/Columns, tick the box beside Split.

To start, let's open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company and navigate to the Reports Center to access the report. Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu on the left panel and enter Transaction List with Splits in the Find report by name field.
  2. On the reports screen, click the Report period drop-down and set the correct date range.

 

You can also customize the report to show specific details or tailor its layout. In addition, the date in the General Ledger applies to the entire transaction. While the dates for each line of splits refer to the individual dates of the split transactions.
