Hello @tlanai,
You'll want to update your bank info in QuickBooks to refresh your connection. Let me walk you through how.
Once done, verify if you're able to see the two-factor authentication. Please contact our Customer Care Support if you're still getting the same result. They have the best tools that help you through the process.
I'll also share with you our page about banking and bank feeds for additional reference.
Fill me in if you have other questions or concerns. I'd be glad to assist you. Thanks for posting and have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for getting back to me. I followed your steps and edited the sign in info but it still does not let me log in. With my new bank authentication software, Digipass, it creates a new 8 digit code on my phone that I enter in as my password, plus an additional 4 digit code, every time I log into my bank account (so new password every time I log in). It works fine for logging in to my banking software on my desktop computer but when I edit the password for QBO to, it won't log in. It just doesn't recognize the new password, and it won't take my old password that I used to log into my bank account prior to starting to use Digipass yesterday.
Is there a way to get QBO to recognize the new password when I enter it in to QBO, just like my online banking software does?
Thanks for getting back, @tlanai.
Once you make changes on your bank's website, you'll also need to update your bank info in QuickBooks Online. As mentioned by my colleague, you should be able to log in since the system will recognize the changes you made.
If it still won't recognize your password, can you provide me the name of your bank so I can check if there's an ongoing issue?
Keep in touch with me here for any follow-ups. I want to ensure you get all the help you need. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks for the follow up. I logged into my bank account with the special password I receive on my phone each time I go to log in. As soon as I logged into my bank account, I went into QBO and typed in the same log in user name and password I just used to log on to my bank account, but it will not take it. The name of the bank is Tennessee Bank & Trust. The connection/log in to that bank worked fine with QBO until they had me install the authentication software Digipass on Friday. I need the authentication software to be able to do ACH transfers from my bank to other banks. that requires extra security.
Thanks for getting back here in the Community and for sharing more details, @tlanai.
Since you're still having this problem, I highly suggest contacting your bank or your financial institution (FI). This way, you'll know if your bank has any recent announcements about new security requirements that can potentially block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
Meanwhile, you'll want to learn how to manually update your bank transaction in QuickBooks Online. You may refer to this article for more details about the different steps and the needed troubleshooting in case you encountered an error: Manually update bank transactions in QBO.
Once everything's fix and you're now able to connect to your bank, you'll also want to learn how to reconcile your account in QuickBooks Online to ensure that your transactions are matched and accurate: How to reconcile an account in QBO.
Please let me know if I can be of any help by leaving a comment below. Take care and have a wonderful day!
Did you ever resolve this, I have the same issue with my bank account.
Did you ever resolve this issue? I have the same issue with my bank and Digipass
Thanks for joining the thread, PPB2.
Yes, indeed. I'll share some details on how to fix it.
Digipass is a third-party security app that authenticates when you attempt to send an ACH or wire transfer and verifies your identity every time you log in to your bank. To resolve this, you'll have to contact your financial institution or Digipass directly and request to sync it with QuickBooks.
In the meantime, you may manually upload your bank transactions to bring them into your QuickBooks Online account. Please see this article for a complete guide: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Once those transactions are in QuickBooks, you can begin reviewing and categorizing transactions to put them in the appropriate accounts.
Let me know if you have further questions about bank feeds. I'll be around to help you.
