I am just setting my QB up and I accidentally added all my accounts and not just my business. How do I start over. I am not far in at all.

I am just setting my QB up and I accidentally added all my accounts and not just my business. How do I start over. I am not far in at all.

Hi there, aimeekenterprise .

 

Since you accidentally added all your accounts when setting up QuickBooks, I suggest purging your data. You can perform this if your account is less than 60 days old and it only works for the QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advance. To purge your account, you'll need to log in as admin in your account.
 
Please keep in mind, the system deletes all data entered into the company, and you're unable to restore or reverse them.
 
Here's how:
 
1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin.
2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany. Example: URL shows https://qbo.intuit.com/c28/app/homepage, change to: https://qbo.intuit.com/c28/app/purgecompany.
3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
4. Type the word “YES” to confirm you want to delete your company data. Then, click OK.
5. Choose Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
 
After the process is finished, you can start your books from scratch.
 
If your account is more than 60 days , you'll need to cancel it, and start a new one. This doesn't delete your data directly. You can still access your data within one year.
 
Here's how to cancel your account:
 
1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online.
2. Click the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.
3. Choose the Billing and Subscription tab.
4. Select Cancel from the QuikcBooks section. Then, Continue to cancel.
5. Follow the next steps and choose Submit and cancel subscription.
6. Hit Got it.
