Can you tell me what QuickBooks Online (QBO) version you're currently subscribed to?
Certain reports are available depending on the version of QBO you're using. The Profit and Loss Detail report is only available in QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. If you're using the Simple Start version, you're unable to find the report on your account.
For more information, see this article: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online Subscription.
You may want to upgrade your subscription in order to have this report. To do so, you can utilize this link for the detailed process: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription.
Once you've upgraded, you can now run a Profit and Loss Detail report. I'll show you how.
You'll want to read this article to learn how to personalize and focus on specific detail when running reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I have the QuickBooks Online Advanced and cannot find this report. What gives?
Thank you for sharing with QuickBooks plan you're using, @marysta . I have information and troubleshooting steps to help you display the Profit and Loss Detail report.
I'd like to know what access role you have in the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced account. If your access can't view P&L Detail reports, you'll need to reach out to the company admin and request a role change to allow you to run this report.
If you're the primary admin and the report won't show, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps.
Let's start by logging in to your account via private or incognito mode to avoid storing damaged data files that can cause errors when using a web-based program. Feel free to utilize the shortcut keys below:
Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
Safari: press Command + Shift +N
Then, run the report. Once this works, clear the cache of the default browser to remove the accumulated data file that causes the error. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser or device. This happens if the current one you're using has a temporary issue with the program.

@JeraldR "This happens if the current one you're using has a temporary issue with the program."
Either it's not a temporary problem, or constantly telling people to clear the cache isn't correct.
You can't have it both ways.
