I have 2 credit card accounts linked to quickbooks. It was working find, then for no apparent reason, one (and only one) of the accounts stopped updating. Help?

I have verified that my access is verified and clicked on the "update" icon.  Again the other card at the same bank is uploading just fine.

Hello there, gayle.

Let me ensure you can get the latest bank transactions into your online banking in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can easily categorize them coming from your bank.

Beforehand, can you share what bank institution you are affiliated with? Also, do you run into any particular errors? With that, there are various fixes we can perform for every specific error. You'll want to check out this article for details: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can check your bank's website to see if there are any maintenance or ongoing issues that affect other accounts. The relevance described above can occasionally be the cause.

In the meantime, you can manually add your bank transactions to account registers by referring to the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, and select the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account registration that you want to review.
  3. From the Actions column, choose View register.
  4. Then, choose Add journal entryAdd check, or Add deposit from the dropdown menu at the top of the list.
  5. Choose the transaction type you want to include.
  6. To finish the transaction, complete the fields.
  7. When finished, click Save.

You may also want to upload them using the supported file formats manually:

  • Comma-Separated Values (CSV)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)

Please refer to this article for in-depth instructions and guidelines: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. Once done, utilize this article to reconcile your account to review and ensure your books are balanced.

Keep in touch if you have more concerns about updating bank transactions. I'm just around to lend a hand to help. Stay safe!

I get no "error code".  When I click on the Update icon it circles as if it doing something, but no update happens.  Cardmember Services is the credit card and United Community Bank is the other account.  Both are the same for the other credit card account that is functioning as normal.

Got it fixed.  Went to "linking", "manage link", then disconnected, waited a minute, reconnected, and entered date I wanted to start the download, and it worked!  Thanks!
