Yes, QuickBooks will keep your data for a year. However, you need to have an active subscription to have access to the account.
You can resubscribe or follow the steps on screen to activate your account. You can also check this article for further information about reactivating account: How to resubscribe to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I also added an article for your future reference on how to export files in QuickBooks Self-Employed: Export transactions and trips to .csv.

How do you purchase and outright license for view only access to historical data? Conversion to QBO left several key items of information off of my invoices so I need my historical data.
This statement comes from the site referenced above about cancellation but there is no info on how to purchase an outright license for read only access to MY data that I have paid for the software to view for over 20 years. All support answers say an active subscription but this says there is an option to purchase an outright license.

Does it mean that Quickbooks will keep my data for a year but I'll have to subscribe to access the data. Please advise me on how to subscribe to view my data and how much does it cost.
You can convert your data to QB Desktop before cancelling your QBO account. You can use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good if required.
Hello there, Nrgrizi.
I can see how important it is for your business needs.
Indeed, QuickBooks retains your data for one year. It is important to note that an active subscription is required to maintain access to your account. You can still use the same login credentials when you re-subscribe.
Simply sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed. You should get the option to resubscribe as soon as you sign in. If you don't, follow these steps to resubscribe:
Also, visit https://quickbooks.intuit.com/self-employed/ to see the different plans and bundles.
