HI I have Quickbooks 2018 multi user and my old bookeeper moved away with the other version. I need to add a new user. Anyone know how?
Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Community, @GW8.
I'm here to help you add and remove user in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
You can add and delete users under the Users and Roles page. Let me show you how.

Thanks for your help. Next step is how do I download the desktop software for the other user. Do I need to buy another license?
No need for another license. Download your version from Download QB, install on the additional computer, configure for multi users (make sure all users' QBs are pointed to the correct file location), then uninstall from the previous user's computer.
well I contacted quickbooks and they told me i needed to buy another license. Sold it to me for $299 sent me a download link and I cant get the files to sync. It is saying that the password is incorrect. It is the same password I am using on this device and it works.
It also does not say multi user as it does on this version.
Actually, I called quick books and the told me that I needed to buy another license. So I did. I paid the $299 & loaded up the new version on the other device. I can get it to open a company file. I put a backup of the data on to a zip drive and when I try to open it I get an incorrect password message. It is the same password I use on this device and it works on this one.
It's nice to see you here, GW8.
I want to make sure that you'll be able to restore the backup copy of your company file. So let's get this sorted out.
There are instances that the file that you're trying to open in the second computer for multi-user is not the same file that they shared from the server computer, that's why they're getting a prompt that the password is incorrect.
To better isolate this, you can check the company file location from the server computer to locate the correct company file.
Here's how:
