You will not lose any entries that are in the current sub-account. They will no longer appear in the current parent account. To move a sub account to another level open to edit, uncheck This account is a sub account of..." and that should be it
I have a similar issue... I setup my employees credit cards as a sub account. Now I figured out how to link the accounts to my banking page. I was entering them all manually before. Im afraid if I change the account from a Sub to Primary it will mess with transactions. Willl that mess with any reconciliation done?

Transactions that were manually entered in the sub-account will not affect the posting accounts. You'll just have to uncheck the Is a sub-account option. Let me show you how:

With the new QuickBooks Online (QBO) updates, we can make the sub-account inactive to remove it from the parent account. I'll guide you on how.
Additionally, you can also merge the two accounts. It will move all the data into the one you want to keep and removes the duplicate.
I'd also recommend balancing your credit card account every month. It will monitor your expenses and detect errors accordingly: Reconcile your account in QuickBooks Online.

In this new QBO, is there no way to move a sub-account to either a parent account or under a different parent account? I made the account inactive and active and it is still under the old parent account.
