Hello, @elle-wellplayedf.

 

As a healthcare professional, I understand how you value the security of the data entered in QuickBooks. You can purge your data if your QuickBooks Online account is less than 60days from the sign up date. This way, the system deletes all the possible data entered into the company and you're unable to restore or reverse them. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
  3. Example: URL shows https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  4. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
  5. Type the word “YES” once the data gets deleted, then click OK.
  6. Click Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
  7. Once the deletion is complete, you will be rerouted to your home page.

However, if your account is 60 days old or older, you'll need to cancel your account or subscription to delete the QuickBooks account. 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner. Then, select Account and Settings under Your Company.
  2. Select the Billing and subscription tab.
  3. From the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  4. Follow the steps to cancel your account. If you use payroll, you should cancel your payroll account too.

Once completed, you'd received an email notification containing the cancellation details. You can read through this article for more detailed steps: What will happen if I cancel my subscription?

 

Now, you can login to your Intuit account and request for the complete removal of your data from our servers. 

  1. Go to accounts.intuit.com.
  2. Have the customer log in with their account information
  3. Go to the Data & Privacy on the left of the page.
  4. Click Continue on the Delete line.
  5. Select the Make a delete request at the bottom of the page.
  6. Once you have confirmed your email address, choose Continue.
  7. Check the boxes of all products you want your information deleted from, then select the Continue button.
  8. You will be asked to confirm that you want to send the request. If you want to continue with deleting your information, check the box I understand what'll happen after my data is deleted and I want to send this request, and select the Continue button.
  9. For final confirmation, you will need to enter your password, then select the button Delete this data.
  10. You will see a message that you will shortly receive an email. You should select Done.

You'll receive an email with information about what will happen next. This can take a few days and up to 45 days. You will also see an option to cancel the request within 72 hours. I received a message that said "The page at https://c19.qbo.intuit.com says:

this operation is allowed only for QuickBooks online plus, QuickBooks Online Edition, or QuickBooks online essentials companies."

 

I have QuickBooks easy start.  Can you help me?

Thanks for clarifying your current subscription. I have details about the purging process and your data removal. 

 

As what the message pointed out, the purging feature is available for Essentials or Plus version. For QuickBooks Easy Start (or Simple Start) users, you'll want to cancel your subscription instead. Your data will be deleted from the system completely after a year. 

 

To cancel your subscription: 

 

  1. Click the gear icon, then select Account and settings.
  2. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  3. On the QuickBooks Online box, click Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the survey to proceed with the cancellation.

Thanks for joining the thread, 2107129d.

 

I know a way to delete a customer's payments in QuickBooks Online. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu, then click the Customers tab.
  2. Select the customer's name from the list and then proceed to the Transaction List tab.
  3. Locate and click the payment to open it.
  4. Hit the More option at the bottom and choose Delete.
  5. Once done, select Yes to complete the process.

 

On the other hand, you don't need to delete if the payment applied to the invoice is coming from a download bank transaction. What you need to do is to undo it so it'll be back to the Banking page under the For review tab.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking page and select the bank account.
  2. Click the Reviewed tab.
  3. Locate the payment transaction and click on Undo.

 

Once done, the payment transaction will go back to the For review tab. From there, you can reapply it to any of your open invoices if necessary.

LMAO!! So the support "help chat" person says I need to reply here to notify you guys that the delete option isn't working for my account. Lovely airing my dirty laundry here. So yeah, canceling all my subs(done), deleting my data after a decade with quickbooks? Quickbooks has jumbled all my invoices up and mixed up my line items within each invoice as well as deleted my line items I had saved for future use and also my logo. I am struggling to find a reason to stay with some company that cant even protect my data.

 

So, yeah trying to delete every last iota of info this shady company has on me, but it is giving me an "hmmm that didn't work." message. For all of the options in the data privacy login. I have tried from multiple browsers and laptops and internet connections. No go on anything. Same error.
