Everything is wrong.  The totals are incorrect and the report does not give the 4 answers to what my sales tax agency needs.  I am NO accountant, but this is wrong!

I'm here to help and ensure that your questions are addressed accordingly, dnasplatt1.

For me to be able to provide you with the right issue resolution, could you please tell me what specific sales report you're trying to generate in QuickBooks Online? In which aspect of the report is incorrect?

It would be best if you can send me a screenshot as well. Any additional information would be highly appreciated.

I hope you can respond to me on this post so we can work on your concern together, dnasplatt1. Please know I'm ready to assist further. Have a good one.

If my sales report is incorrect, how do i fix it

Hi Rose!

I've attached my Sales Tax Liability Report.  In Desktop, this is the report I used for 11 years and it contained the answers to the 4 questions I am asked by the Texas Comptroller.  This report from QBO just tells me what I should pay.  My total sales were 20448, NOT 6268.75.  And as previously stated, I am NO accountant.  But, I had to pull up the profit/Loss to get my sales.  Also, the 6222.00 under taxable amount is what I invoiced in July.  Not one dime of that money was collected, in July.   I am an accual based business.  Something is wrong.  I really hope you can help.  My tax is due today, so I'm going to go pay and file.  I've never been this late before!!!

If my sales report is incorrect, how do i fix it

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to get your Sales Tax Liability Report working, dnasplatt1.

There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequent access to web pages or damaged. This prevents you from running reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To better isolate this issue, try signing in to your QBO using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues.

Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Then, try running the Sales Tax Liability Report. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. You can also request a call back from our representatives. This feature is designed to be an easier and faster way for customers to contact support.

 Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help menu.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Provide a short description or tell us specifically how we can help you, then click Let's talk.
  4. Click Get a callback.
  5. You also have the option to click Message an agent if you want a chat agent instead.

To ensure we address your concern on time, just see the support hours and types article for more details.

If my sales report is incorrect, how do i fix it

I tried all this, still the same.  And no totals like desktop used to do, and it is not an customization that I can add.  I wish I had two-three hours to get this fixed on the phone or chat w QuickBooks.  I just don't have that kind of time at the moment.  Thank you for trying to help!
