Our company uses the memo field when creating invoices as an internal use to document things that we don't want the customer to see. When creating statements, this field is then printed but we don't want that happening. Is there any way possible to create a statement and NOT have the memo field printed on it? It's rather time consuming to generate the statements, only to have to then edit them in Adobe to take out that field, before sending them on to the customers. Really hoping there is a better work around to this!
Hi Rachel.
I appreciate you for reaching out to us here on the Community page. I can guide you on how to remove the memo details from your statements.
Yes, you're right with excluding the memos from the customers' statements. At this time, you need to remove the information manually to cut them out when printing. Moving forward, I recommend adding the internal message (memo) on the Description column. This way, they won't be visible from your customers' end.
I've added these screenshots as your visual references.
If you need help with removing those internal notes easily, you may look for a supported third-party application from the Intuit Marketplace.
Moreover, you may also create a customized field for these notes. For your guide, I suggest checking out the instructions from this article: Create and use custom fields in QuickBooks Desktop.

I use the memo field for internal info I need that shows on the Customer Information Page. This is frustrating in not being able to delete it from my customer statements.
I don't quite understand your directive to put internal memos in the description line on invoices. Yes, that information won't be printed on statements that are sent to customers but it will print on the invoices sent to them.
I'm not looking for a work around. I specifically want to eliminate the information that's in the memo space on invoices, from appearing on the statement.

We hear your sentiments, @Question14.
At the moment, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) doesn't offer the option to prevent invoice memos from printing on the customer statement.

I'm not trying to remove it from an invoice since it doesn't show up on the printed invoice. What I'd like is to prevent the invoice memo from printing on the statement. Is this impossible as well?
Thank you for coming back to the Community, Question14.
I acknowledge your concern about the invoice memo being printed on the statement. Allow me to provide you with some clarification on this matter.
The ability to remove memo details from the statement is currently unavailable. Adding a tool that lets you control the information displayed on invoices and statements when printing would be a valuable addition to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Since Intuit does not respond to customer requirements on this topic, or does not have the capability to achieve the required statement information, can Intuit recommend a 3rd party who can make the necessary modification?
I know the urgency of using third-party software that fits your business needs in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Local CPA. Let me share some information that will help you.
QuickBooks is compatible with a wide range of third-party software developers. While I’m unable to suggest a specific app, you can utilize this website https://desktop.apps.com/home to narrow down your search and explore various options. Additionally, reviewing customer feedback can help you determine which app best fits your business requirements.
I've added this article to learn how you can receive payment for an invoice for future reference: Record an invoice payment.
Let me know if you have further concerns about managing your transactions in QBDT. I'm always here to help you out.
QB needs to fix this issue ASAP, its very annoying. I have to print customer statements, white-out the memo's, scan the statement and then email it to the customer. Absolutely ridiculous.
If you have the version of Adobe Acrobat that allows you to edit a pdf you can select to print the pdf and for the printer, select Microsoft Print To PDF (or whatever version of that your computer has), This will allow you to save the statement as a pdf without scanning it and then edit the memo out so you can attach the statement to your email without the memo. It's not a perfect solution but until QB is updated to allow that customization, it might work for you.
