Merging all files/folders into one company

We are going to be merging 2 companies that we own into one.  We currently have an account in Quikbooks for each company and we are especially concerned about the financial aspects (balance sheets, profit & loss, general ledger, etc), that all information from Company #2 merges into Company #1.

So my question is....is this something that can be done?   If it is, is there a Quikbooks agent that is very familiar with doing this procedure that can walk us thru it?  We would like to speak with someone instead of just writing us directions.  We are going to be doing this merge in January and when we are ready to begin the process, contact the QB pro for assistance.

Thank you

Terri

You may have 2 ways to merge 2 QBO accounts:

1. Signup for a new QBO Plus or Advanced account

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/US

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo

then utilize a 3rd party tool to migrate data from old accounts to the new one.

You may also need to setup class tracking and/or location to separate transactions.

As an additional option, utilize the backup restore app during the migration process.

2. Purchase a 3rd party service to merge them.

Thanks for checking this out in the Community, Terri56.

Allow me to share details to answer questions. At the moment, we're unable to merge two separate QBO accounts. Please take a look at this article for additional details: Merge Companies, Data Files or Copy Lists.

Similar to Fiat's suggestion, you can explore third-party apps that offer merging of accounts. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu and proceed to the Find Apps tab.
  2. Click the drop-down list for Browse category and select Sync Data.
  3. Choose an app and click on it to view more details and what they offer.

Let me share these articles for additional references about using third-party apps:

Lastly, you can also follow these steps if you want to reach out to our phone support team:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right hand corner of your QBO account.
  2. Type in "Talk to a human" in the chatbox, then press Enter. Then, type in the same keyword and press Enter one more time.
  3. Select No.
  4. Choose between Chat with us or Have us call you.

Let me know if that answers your question about combining two QBO accounts. You can also post more questions if you need anything else.
