You've arrived at the right forum. I'm here to help you move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

After exporting your data to QuickBooks Desktop, you will notice a change in the appearance. Get more info about what data does and doesn't export from QuickBooks Online.

First, download QuickBooks Desktop. If you haven't already, download and install QuickBooks Desktop on your computer. Then follow these steps:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to File and select Close Company. Leave QuickBooks Desktop open while you complete the rest of the steps.

Next, sign in to QuickBooks Online and download the migration tool.

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account you want to convert with a browser we support. Use your Intuit Account credentials.
  2. Select the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.  The URL should say https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. Then select Enter on your keyboard. Other support task links won't work during this process.
  3. You'll see Export Overview. Read the Export Overview. You can print out it if you'd like. Click Get Started.
  4. Select the Download tool to download the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
  5. Once you download the tool, launch the tool to install it and select Next.
  6. Accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next.
  7. Choose Complete as the type of setup, then Next.
  8. Pick Install, then Finish.

For detailed information on the steps, refer to this article: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm adding this article you can use in the future: Move lists and balances from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to post here again if you have further QuickBooks-related concerns. We are available 24/7 to lend a hand with each of your queries. Stay safe!

Let me chime in on this conversation to provide you with steps in migrating your files from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). You can access the migration tool by making changes to the URL for QuickBooks Online in your web browser. I'm here to provide you with the updated link so that you can easily access it.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account using a supported web browser.
  2. In the URL bar, replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt (it should look like this: (https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt).
  3. On the Export overview screen, click the Get Started button.
  4. Click the Download tool button to download the migration tool.
  5. After downloading, launch the installer and run it.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation process.

Moreover, for the detailed steps in preparing the migration process, you can take a look at this article as your guide: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

@JaeAnnC  I am pretty sure that @OnTrack Team  is not your colleague, but go ahead and take credit, I guess.

Thank you! @FishingForAnswers

With all these QuickBooks employee (BOT?) posts, it seems like Intuit purposely wants Community users not to receive real solutions to their QuickBooks problems.

Even when someone is trying to help with a short and practical hint, they bombard you with lengthy and meaningless posts produced by pre-formulated templates, discouraging real people from offering a helping hand.
