Multiple QBO Logon Emails Switching Accounts Displays Incorrect Screen

Hello,

I have an issue that I reported to the developer site, but they referred me here. My case is as follows:

I use email A, email B, email C, and others to log in to QBO. Company A1, A2, A3 are all under email A and the same with email B and C (each has several companies under it).

The issue I run into is for example I am logged into email A and using Company A2.

I am inactive for a while and get auto logged off.

I come back and want to access email C, company C1. I sign in with email C's credentials and when I successfully sign in, I still see Company A2's dashboard. I can see the quick report numbers and things, but when I click on anything, I get kicked out and have to sign in again with email C.

The problem is two part:

1) I have to sign in two times to access company C1

2) Privacy issue for being able to see Company A2's amounts.

Though I am the only person using the computer, I can see a potential privacy issue if it is a shared computer or other matter. Not sure if this only happens to me.

Multiple QBO Logon Emails Switching Accounts Displays Incorrect Screen

The security of your accounts is our top priority, @AccountantZ. With this, I'm here to guide you on the actions you need to take care of this issue about accessing the correct QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Your browser will store cache or temporary internet files. This is its way to download website images, data, and documents for faster viewing in the future. Based on your complete description of the issue above, you're seeing Company A2's dashboard while signed in with email C's credentials due to your browser's stored cache. To resolve this unusual response to the QBO system, I'd recommend performing some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, verify that you're accessing the correct account using the specified credentials. If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performances issue. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Also, QBO uses a timeout feature for your security. This feature helps prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your data when you're away from the computer. To learn more about this, you can check out this article: Timeout duration in QuickBooks Online.

In the meantime, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your business's growth using QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about account management, data security, and banking, to name a few. You can click the + More topics button to view other selections.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other log-in concerns or inquiries about data security in QBO, I'm just around to help. Take care always.
