I have qb premium plus and had to by the software last year to upgrade from 2019. Now they tell me I have to pay $2,000.00 a year, as a subscription?
What am I getting by paying this? What if I don’t pay it can I still continue to run QB premium Plus on my network? All Data is saved on our network, so we don’t save anything with their cloud service.
I used to have to upgrade the software every 3 years for $1,000.00 now they want $2,000 a year?
Just confused if I have to pay them this money yearly?

You are using QBD Premier Plus for 5 users, correct?
Plus = annual subscription. They don't offer any one time license since QBD 2022.
Do you also have QB Payroll?
This must be so difficult for you, SignCo_USA.
I have no idea how you must be feeling at this moment. I'll provide additional information about QuickBooks Desktop subscription.
That is true. If you purchased a one-time QuickBooks Desktop license, you can upgrade it every three years. However, no edition of QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and higher offers a one-time license anymore. If you upgraded to QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus, you need to have an active subscription to access and open the data. Alternatively, you can still access your company's files after your subscription expires by using a computer that has an active license.
You'll be getting the following for paying QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus:
The cost of the QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus is $799 per year. It may come with a payroll subscription, bringing the cost to $2000. Normally, you'll get a message when you open QuickBooks if a new version is available. Just follow the instructions below to upgrade to a newer version from within the software,
Here's how:
Go to the Preferences, if you don't get a prompt to upgrade your QuickBooks subscription.

Hi,
Thank you for the clarity but I just spoke to a rep with Intuit and they told me it costs $2,000.00 a year because I have 5 users on my network. I used to buy software for 5 persons and it would cost me $750-$800 and I would not have to upgrade for 3 more years. Average cost was $250 per year. Now they want to charge me $2,000.00 per year for what? I do not use the payroll servcice, infact the only thing I use is the accounting software. So why is Inyuit/Quickbooks sticking it to their customers by an 8x price increase. What incentive does a long term user like myself (20 Years) have to continue to use your product? In fact everytime I call them its like I am talking to a robot with a script in place to answer only what is written. Very disappointed, and feeling ripped off as a customer. I will start looking into alternative accounting software.
I too have used QB for over 20 years and it is very disappointing, misleading and absurd how they operate. Every 3 years I have to upgrade and they state that there are new features and it is better. I can't say I have ever seen any new options that would help my accounting. They mention things that are basic and still exist in every version. And at times they take away good features.
I am trying to upgrade several of my customers that have plus subscriptions. I can't get the one time messages to come back. I change it in preferences & when I come back the check mark is gone. Any idea as to what to do now? I have 6 customers that I am trying to upgrade & the same think happens for all of them. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey would love to help. What do you mean one time message?
Under preferences (my preferences) I have to turn on "Bring back all one time messages". Then I can get it to upgrade to 2023 plus.
If you are using QBD 2022, login to CAMPS as the Primary Contact and make sure your billing info is correct before renewal due date. Another option, purchase a new license for QBD 2023 through a partner as a workaround. Your client can get $100 as cashback and tax exempt to lower their cost if required. T&C apply.
My customers have already renewed. They had 2022 plus & it auto renewed on their credit card. How do they upgrade to 2023 plus? I assumed there wasn't a charge & that with plus as long as you kept your subscription current you could upgrade the version at no charge?
Login to CAMPS and you should find the license code for QBD 2023.
I'm here to help you upgrade to the newest version, Virginia.
Yes, once the subscription is auto-renewed, there is no charge for the upgrade.
Let's follow Fiat's suggestion. I recommend asking your customer to log in to Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) to check if the 2023 license code is available. Here's how:
Once done, let's use the Discovery Hub to upgrade the subscriptions. I’ll show you how:
Aside from that, you can also get the latest version of the program from the QuickBooks Desktop Manager. You can select and install the product.
I've also added these resources that'll help you successfully upgrade your customers' subscriptions:
In case you're unable to upgrade, I'd recommend manually downloading and installing the 2023 version. Make sure to use the license details in CAMPs.
Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help you and your customers learn more about the latest features added in the 2023 version and the computer needs for the best experience:

We have had Quickbooks for MANY years. Why SUDDENLY do we have to do this? Why can we not continue to upgrade every three years? Can we go back to a previous version to prove that we have been using Quickbooks continuously? This seems like an underhanded trick to make old customers pay like new ones! HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!
If this upgrade is done, will QB "discontinue" it in the future and force another paid upgrade by blocking basic services like manually importing a qbo file? Does "lifetime" really mean lifetime, or does it mean until Intuit decides to "discontinue" again?
Hello there,
Allow me to add more information. If you have purchased the one-time license for QuickBooks Desktop, you can use it perpetually. However, please note that, in this case, you will not have access to any online services, including the ability to import any QBO files. And if you do not rely on payroll or banking services, you can continue using your discontinued version.
Furthermore, the discontinuation process also applies to subscription-based versions. We will no longer support these versions, and blocking the online services is likely inevitable. Therefore, upgrading to the newer version is highly recommended.
I've also included this resource to help you in the future: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, or Enterprise

It is outrageus what Intuit has done with us desktop license owners. They stopped us from being able to download bank transaction data in order to push us online.
F..k them!
I say dont do it. In my opinion, this is abuse of market power.
There are software out there that will import your bank files into your own desktop software. and I believe that many more will be developed as more users like us are unhappy with Intuit services.
I will NOT become an online user, paying 5 times more per month than my previous license. Instead, i will switch providers.
"I have no idea how you must be feeling at this moment." Really? I have a pretty good idea, and I think most of us feel the same way. We've been had. We've put all our eggs into this one basket, and now Intuit has decided that we must pay not only for the basket, but for every mile that we carry that basket.
There is really no other way to describe it than a rip-off, but it is what it is. It's the same thing Microsoft did with Office 365. My company resisted as long as we could, but we could resist no longer. Things eventually stopped working smoothly, we had to pay and adapt. Same thing is happening here. Adobe has done the same thing, everybody that can get away with it is doing it. You just don't buy software any more, you rent it. And the increase in price is sometimes staggering. But we're just supposed to sit and take it because, you know, "increased shareholder value." Like that means anything to us who are not shareholders. We are simply the screwed customers.
"The customer is always right"? That's so 1990's.
Are you using QB Desktop 2023 with a single user license or else?
We are just preparing to upgrade from QB 2020 Premiere Pro to 2023. There will be multiple users. I'm not sure how this is relevant?
If you decide to buy a new license for QBD 2023 Pro Plus, you need to act immediately. When they release QBD 2024 next month at a higher price, you can't get QBD 2023 anymore.
“Act now!!! Limited supplies! This product will go fast fast fast never to return! Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime deal to pay more and get less! You won’t be burdened with that cumbersome ownership of software! No!! You can have the convenience of renting it!! But hurry, this opportunity to bend over is gone in less than a month!!”
find out if m version of quickbooks is ok
Good day, @judyfreeman1105.
It's my pleasure to provide the help you need. To do so, I need more information about what concern you have.
Do you need help figuring out what subscription you're using? Are you referring to the Product edition and version info of QuickBooks Desktop? Would you like to take a look at our available products?
I'll be on the lookout for your response. Have a great day.
Any specific concern?
Intuit has bought out basically all competitors. Contact the Federal trade commission and complain about their monopoly and price gouging. Ask to have them investigated. We all need to do this.....Intuit takes advantage of its customers due to its Monopoly.
