I'm getting this" Sorry, we don’t currently support connecting to a client’s QuickBooks Online company from a different region." after accepting a QB accountant invite. Does the QuickBooks Online Accountant US version allow me to accept client invitations for clients that are in another country

No. You need to prepare another email address to sign up for another QBO Accountant version.

Currently, this is unavailable if you're using a different region from your client.

 

Furthermore, you can create a QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account with the same region as your client. However, not all regions support QBOA accounts.

 

Alternatively, your client can invite you as a company administrator to help with their books. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Manage Users.
  3. Click Add User.
  4. Enter personal information.
  5. Choose Company admin in the Roles drop-down arrow.
  6. Hit Send invitation.

 

They can also check about a user's roles and rights in case they want to change their permissions in the future.

Thank you for this. What happens if the client has the simple start Quickbooks Package? That only supports one user?Will I have to share my client's login credentials to assist?

Yes, you're right. @lkamaunjoroh. QuickBooks Simple Start supports only one billable user.

 

If your client has the Simple Start QuickBooks package, which only supports one user, sharing login credentials may not be the best approach due to security and privacy concerns. You could advise your client to upgrade their subscription to the QuickBooks Essential version, which allows for 3 users. Alternatively, you can also set up a QuickBooks Accountant version using a different email and have them send an invitation.


Furthermore, accountant users, work on their books, access reports, and perform other accounting tasks while maintaining the security of their login credentials. This approach ensures that both you and your client adhere to best practices for data security and privacy.

 

I recommend discussing this option with your client and guiding them through the process of inviting you as an accountant user in their QuickBooks account.
