That's a great question, @MDPWW2011. While it's not possible to directly unlink QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QBO Payroll, I can guide you through the process of transitioning QuickBooks Payroll into a standalone product. Let's dive into the details and find the best solution for your needs.
QBO Payroll, as you might expect, can work directly with a QuickBooks subscription, and QuickBooks offers bundled plans for these two services together. You can, however, purchase Payroll separately.
First, you need to cancel your Payroll subscription in QuickBooks. Keep in mind that canceling the subscription may result in the loss of any payroll data associated with your QBO account. It's always a good idea to back up any important data before making changes like this. Here's how:
- Sign in to your QBO account using your credentials.
- Go to the Gear icon, then select Subscriptions and billing.
- Under the QuickBooks Payroll section, click on Cancel.
- Follow the prompts to continue.
Once done with the cancellation, you can purchase a standalone QBO Payroll. We offer three different plans that fit your needs. See the screenshot below for your reference or visit this page: QuickBooks Payroll.
