When accepting an invitation to connect to a new client's QBO - it did not show up under my client list. It's a separate entity. How do I get it to show up under clients?

I have the QBO Accountants version, I would like it to show up on my client's list so that I can use the features included in the Accountant's version.

Hey there, BABI. Let me shed some light regarding accepting an invitation using QuickBooks Accountant (QBOA).

In QBOA, you'll have to check if the email that the clients sent the invitation link with is the same as the email address that you're using in your QBOA account. After doing so, use your QBOA credentials to log in and then see if the name of your client/s is already on your list.

Follow these steps:

  1. Ask your client to send the invite to the email address you use for your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm.
  2. Click the invite email and select the Accept Invitation link.
  3. Sign in with your user ID and password.
  4. Choose the one you want to connect your client to.

You can refer to this material if you want to learn more important steps about adding your clients: Add clients

If you happen to accept a link using another entity, you'll have to make your client remove the invite that they sent so that they can send a new invitation with the email that you're using in QBOA. After doing these steps, the client should send an invitation link again for you to enter your login credentials.

To remove the email address, here's how:

  1. Your client needs to sign in as a primary admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon located at the top right corner.
  3. Click Manage Users.
  4. Choose the Accounting Firms tab.
  5. The client should look for their accountant firm.
  6. In the Action column, click the small dropdown icon and then press Delete. Know that If there are any duplicate invites, they can delete it.

I'll provide you with some references to visit for future transactions or connections with your clients: Add clients to QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Thank you for your response IrizA. -

I looked back in my emails and noticed the client had sent 2 invites to me, 1 as an user and the 2nd as an accountant. I must have accepted the wrong invite. After accepting the 2nd invite as the Accountant, the company file is now listed under my client list using the accountant version.

Thanks again-JM
