Let me provide you with information on the difference between Cash Basis reports and Accrual Basis reports.
Cash Basis isn't going to show you the amount that's being accrued to be paid. It will only show the tax payments they've made so far. Accrual Basis is going to show how much that's due as well as payments that may have been made already. Here's how you can change the method on the report:

If you're not seeing these options, then we can perform some troubleshooting to see if it's a browser-related issue. The best way to handle missing buttons is to clear the cache and cookies of the browser you're using for your QuickBooks Online. Like any other web-based platforms, QuickBooks Online collects cache files and cookies. These files can become outdated, causing issues like the one with your filter buttons not appearing. Here's a link to help you with the process: Clear Web Browser History.

I need the report to show me sales tax that's due based on customers that have paid their invoice. I can't remit sales tax on an accrual basis, because I would be remitting sales tax on invoices that I haven't received payment on. Cash flow nightmare. I was told (after being on the phone for more than 2 hours with support), that this is possible in accountant mode? I've developed my own work around running a deposit summary and a customized sales tax breakdown per invoice report. I'm used to the cash basis sales tax liability I ran in QB desktop for 10 years, so running 2 reports and reconciling them is not the most efficient.
Thanks for your response, @anabananz4.
