I have been using Quickbooks Desktop (QBD) for nearly 20 years and in 2021 they changed to yearly subscription service. I installed in May, and in Oct I kept getting notice from QB that my yearly subscription of Intuit Data Protect needs to be paid but I do not want or need this service. I do not want or need any of the extra bells and whistles that QB thinks are necessary. Only basic QB software and payroll for my taxes.
I contacted customer service to cancel INTUIT DATA PROTECT, they said they canceled INTUIT DATA PROTECT service and what they canceled was my entire subscription!!!! So now nothing works, i get access my company file and my Payroll service ($500!!!) is also useless. I have contacted customer service 4 times to get this corrected and I get no help. Two times I was told they couldn't do anything, the 3rd person told me that everything is corrected and I can use my service as before, not true! Still nothing corrected. Still can't use my software. The fourth representative said she can prorate my original subscription and then I have to buy an new subscription! After 20 years I'm the one jumping through hoops to get QB to work again. They don't even offer you anything for your troubles or try to make you better.
So after approx 8 hours of customer service nothing has been fixed. It's the end of the year and my QBD is useless! Unable to do any of my year-end bookkeeping and taxes!
QB customer service made a mistake and I'm the one having to pay for it! I know my refund request will get denied and that I will have to deal with them again, more waited time! So much for "Helping Small Businesses."
Which QB Desktop year version do you have? If you were using QB Desktop 2021, you can still purchase a one time license of it. Utilize the trial license of it for the time being.
I have QB 2021 Desktop Pro Plus which I purchased with 1year subscription that started 05/2021. Customer service wrongfully canceled my subscription in October. I AM NOT PURCHASING ANYTHING! I shouldn't have to put out anymore money than I already have! You want me to pay another $300 to use a program for 30 days, with free trial window, and then what? I still have 5 months on my original subscription, that I am being cheated out of!
I have been unable to use QB or my $500 Payroll Service from October to Dec because of this issue.
Have someone reinstate my original subscription or just give me a new License number that I can use for 7 months! This is absolutely ridiculous. No one in customer service has been able to come up with a solution that reasonably works.
Check your CAMPS to make sure what your license status is.
Its 07:10 in the morning, status is still CANCELED.
I understand the urgency to get your subscription activated, @nan13.
This isn't the kind of impression that I'd like you to have, and we know how much time it can take when something isn’t working the way you need it. This is why we make great efforts to deliver customer satisfaction and fix an issue as soon as possible.
Since Community is a public forum, I won't be able to check your subscription without asking for sensitive information. I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. I understand that you already contacted them before, but they're the best support group that can investigate this issue further. They can also provide some troubleshooting steps to get back your subscription.
You can spot these articles for more details about updating your billing information. It also includes how you can see your payment history.
Should you have additional questions or concerns, let me know in the comment section. I'm always here available to help. Stay safe, @nan13.
I got an email yesterday asking if my issue was resolved. NO, IT HAS NOT BENN RESOLVED!
I haven't had the time to contact customer support for the 5th time yet!
I guess everyone will have to wait for their paychecks and W2, and the IRS will have to wait for me to file 940 and 941 Forms all because QB customer support is incapable of correcting their own error. I don't see owe referring me back to the same support portable that has helped 5x is going to make things better.
If QB wants to contact me with a SOLUTION, that would actually be helpful.
I'm about 2018. I think I'll going to keep it going and forget about cc downloading. These stories scare me to death. I don't need payroll so I'm content. I had a bad experience with a customer service guy one time I was worried he was gonna destroy my version but he did it
If you don't need any online services (e.g payroll, bank feeds), there is no reason to upgrade your version. Otherwise, you can still purchase a one time license for QBD 2021.
