Required Online Log in for Quickbooks desktop

It's nice to see you here in the Community, @jlm341. I'm here to help you sign in to your account succesfully.

Let's use our built-in browser in QuickBooks Desktop, that replaces Internet Explorer 11 in QuickBooks Desktop. All you need to do is update to the latest release to make sure you receive future security updates

If the above recommendation doesn't work, we can run the Quick Fix my program to close any open background processes QuickBooks uses.

Here's how:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

On the other hand, by designating Intuit as a trusted site, you can prevent your browser from potentially blocking content on the site.

To make Intuit's URL a trusted site in your browser, follow these steps:

 Add Intuit: Safari

  • Open Safari and type payroll.intuit.com into the address bar.
  • Click Enter.
  • Select Bookmarks, then Add Bookmark.
  • Choose Top Sites from the drop-down menu under Add this page.
  • Select Add.

Add Intuit: Google Chrome

  • Choose Settings from Customize, then manage the Google Chrome menu.
  • In the left pane, select Privacy and security, then click Site Settings.
  • Choose Cookies and site data.
  • Select Add in the Allow section.
  • Enter *intuit.com and click Add to save.

See this article for more details: Add Intuit as a trusted site

Moreover, you can also adjust the level of security for internet security options.

Here's how:

  1. Type internet options in the window.
  2. Click Internet properties.
  3. Choose adjust security level.

I'm also adding this site in case you need more information about the Intuit account and why you're required to have it: Intuit account – Why now for QuickBooks Desktop?
