This doesn't work because the Cash and Accounts Payable (and therefore retained earnings), do not assign to class on the general ledger report. The only way you can see the ledger is by running balance sheet by class and then clicking on the class cash. But this is tedious, Intuits needs to develop a General Ledger By Class report similar to the Balance Sheet and P&L by Class reports.
