Turn on classes - Categories tab missing in Account & setting

Hello there

I do not seem to have the Categories option available under Account & Settings/Advance in order to Turn on classes.  I understand this is required to be activated in order for us to get P&L by various departments/classes.

 

Could you urgently assist?

Let me add a few details, Savita.

 

When you upgrade your plan, it will show you the additional cost or plan cost. 

 

 

Feel free to check this article to help you with changing the plan level: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription.

 

Once you're upgraded, you can turn on the class tracking feature.

Turn on classes - Categories tab missing in Account & setting

I can assist you in turning on the class tracking feature, @savita-clearnexu.

 

The class feature is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced. You can go to the Advanced tab to access the Categories section in turning on the class tracking feature.

 

Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon () and select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Advanced menu and then select the Categories section to edit.
  3. Click the Track classes button to turn this feature on. 
  4. Under Assign classes select One to entire transaction or One to each row in transaction.
  5. Select Save, then Done.

After turning it on, you can now add classes to your account. Check this guide for more information: Create and manage classes in QuickBooks Online

Turn on classes - Categories tab missing in Account & setting

My QBOA only allows turning on Classes under the Company Setting >Company. Not under Advanced. Also the question comes up for the certification exam and needs to be adjusted as it is incorrect.
