The Sales by Product/Service Detail shows our sales, grouped by product or service. Includes the date, transaction type, quantity, rate, amount, and total. On the other hand, the Sales by Product/Service Summary report gives you sales for each product or service. Includes the quantity, amount, % of sales, and average price.
The option to change the order of the Product/Service in the Summary report is unavailable. We can export the report and manage it from there.

I see that you are telling me that I cannot change how the products are grouped in the summary report. But can you tell me why in the summary report that products are grouped under other unrelated products?

If you're using a different QBO subscription, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. QuickBooks Online uses browser cache and cookies to run faster. But there are times that these files accumulate in the system causing user interface malfunctions and unusual behaviors in the program.
We can start by accessing your QuickBooks account in a private/incognito browser. Performing this step will help us determine if it's a browser-related issue since this mode doesn't save cache and cookies. You can use these shortcut keys:
Once you're in, let's go to the Taxes menu again then enter the necessary information from the prompt. If it's working well, we'll have to go back to your normal browser then initiate a clear cache to get rid of the accumulated site data and junk files. Alternatively, we can also use other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.

I completed a chat prior to receiving your response and was told "I believe no option for us to do it...and it seems we can't customize the report as to it's category or distribution accounts." The rep encouraged me to submit a feature request, and I did. I hear you saying this is a known issue, and I eagerly await this feature. Thanks for your time.
The Sales by Product/Service Summary Report is BROKEN. I have reported it countless times since March. PLEASE call and report it. Also send QBO a message through Facebook. Reference investigation number INV-47278 and ask that your case be added to the investigation. The Sales by Product/Service Summary report is a fabulous report when it works. I don't know why the developers haven't fixed it yet. It's obviously been having issues for quite some time.
As I noted previously in this thread, the Sales by Product/Service Summary Report is BROKEN. (See Investigation Number INV-47278). This has been an ongoing issue since March. Please escalate this matter to your developers.
