Join nowI did try googling this error and didn't find anything, so I apologize if it has been addressed. I am trying to set up a bank feed connection for our company credit cards, and I am getting the error "Credit card accounts can only be linked with Credit Card type." It appears my accounts are in quickbooks correctly under the credit card type. Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks!
Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Support Team, @pantone06.
I can share some insights about the prompt you're getting when connecting you bank in QuickBooks.
This usually happens if QuickBooks detect that the OFX file (Open Financial Exchange file) has a credit line. This is something that QuickBooks doesn't support at the moment.
To get this checked, we need our technical support to run some diagnostics to identify if the OFX log shows a credit line or not. They can also provide further bank troubleshooting to help you out.

@pantone06 RE: "Credit card accounts can only be linked with Credit Card type. It appears my accounts are in quickbooks correctly under the credit card type."
I think the message is unclear and means: "Credit card accounts [on your chart of accounts in QuickBooks] can only be linked with Credit Card type [bank feed statement data]."
If so, I suspect your bank is confusing the Credit Line statement type with the Credit Card statement type, which happens quite often. I'm not sure why banks make this error so often (a credit card is clearly not a credit line), but if this is the case for you, there's no way to fix the direct download into bank feeds except to get your bank to fix their download.
If you have the ability to download an OFX file from the bank's website, try doing that. You can import it into QuickBooks from the File | Utilities | Import | Web Connect files... menu. It probably won't work either, but you may get confirmation of this error: If liability accounts will appear as options to match to and not credit card accounts, then this is what's going on.
If you really must process the files before the bank fixes the issue (if they ever do) you can use our BRC OFX Cleaner . This error is so common we included a feature to fix this case, to convert Credit Line OFX files to Credit Card OFX files, so that can be properly imported.
