Bank of America-New Connection

I recently updated my bank feeds to Bank of America-New as requested by Quickbooks. When i used to update my bank feeds it would say "Updated:Today" when i clicked the upper right hand refresh button. Now its almost like the refresh button does nothing because it continues to say ""Updated: 3 days ago" even though i updated it today. My transactions are also not matching automatically. I called support and they were no help and did not have any suggestions. Any one else having this issue?

Hi there, JMCabinets.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, JMCabinets. For now, we didn't receive any report from other users about the Bank of America connection issues. I'll ensure you'll be routed to the right team to assist you in updating bank feeds and performing steps so you can view the recent entries as a workaround.

Clicking the Refresh button a couple of times usually fix unusual behaviors of the connection between your bank and QuickBooks. Since performing the steps keeps continues to say Updated: 3 days ago even though you updated it today, I recommend checking with your bank and verifying if there are any ongoing issues on their end. Thus, it could be the reason why your transactions are not updating and not matching automatically in QuickBooks.

In the meantime, you have the option to manually import your bank transactions to your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software. Please know that this can cause duplicate transactions once the connection issue is resolved. In this case, you'll need to delete those uploaded transactions.

However, if you still want to import them, here’s how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu. Then, select Bank Feeds.
  2. Choose Import Web Connect Files.
  3. Select the .QBO file you saved and select Open.
  4. Choose Use a QuickBooks account that exists since the account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks.
  5. Click Continue. You'll see a dialog box telling you that the data has been successfully read into QuickBooks. Then, select OK.
  6. Go to the Bank Feeds Center to review your transactions.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can reconcile your accounts to avoid any discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me updated if you have other follow-up questions in regard to your bank connection or updating your bank entries. I’m more than happy to work with you again, JMCabinets. Keep safe and have a great day!

Bank of America-New Connection

I am having an issue with duplicate transactions as well. It auto-matches with a transaction and after I clear that transaction it reappears and says i need to match it with an existing transaction. The only way to clear it is to delete it. I am just frustrated because my bank feeds was working fine until i had to reconnect to the Bank of America-New connection

Hi there, JMCabinets.

I can help fix your issue with fixing the duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

You have two options to do this, one is through the Register mode and the other one is through the Side-by-side mode.

In the Register mode, you'll want to delete the transactions that don't match, match the appropriate transactions anyway. Then delete the entire statement.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Bank Feeds and then Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Find and select the statement from the Items Received From Financial Institution sectionThen select View.
  4. Match the appropriate transactions. Select Done to match them.
  5. Select Yes in the Not Finished Matching screen. You'll return to the Online Banking Center.
  6. Find and select the same statement from the Items Received From Financial Institution section
  7. Then select Delete.

For more information on how to remove duplicate transactions, check out this article: Remove duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's an article helpful when managing Bank Feed transactions in QBDT: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can always find me here if you have more questions managing your bank transactions. Have a good day!
