Hi,
I'm using Quickbooks online, and have a bank account linked. It has been working fine in the past.
I go to "To Review" and categorize my expenses from my bank account.
I wasn't logging in for a few months, and now am back to catching up.
The first thing I noticed was that at some point, the check images were not coming over for transactions.
Then the transactions themselves stopped showing. They are missing.
I've hit the "Update" button on the bank account several times, they still don't show.
What do I do next? I think I remember having to disconnect the account and reconnect it in the past to resolve an issue like this. But I'm not sure how to do that, or if that is the right thing to do. And what the consequences of that may be.
Thanks!

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can perform a manual update when you notice that QBO no longer downloads your latest available transactions. You may want to log in to your bank's website to see if there are any alerts or notifications that could provide further information about this.
Based on the information you shared, you've tried to update transactions manually however it doesn't show up in your account. I suggest uploading your transactions manually by using an incognito or private window with these keyboard shortcuts:
Furthermore, it's not recommended to disconnect your bank account from QBO. If you do so, it will delete transactions that still need to be categorized in the For review tab. If you need more information on what will happen if you disconnect your bank account, you can refer to this article: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QBO.

Thank you for the reply and help.
I can't figure out what you mean by the sentences that you wrote below. I have not tried to update them manually, I just tried the update button. Why would I use an incognito or private window? And what would I do in that window?

My bank is WSFS. I went thru all of my transactions and here is a summary:
All 2023 transactions are in the QB feed, except for all of June.
Other than June which is completely missing in the feed, all other months had the transactions in the QB feed, but for a time period, they were missing the "bank attachment" of the check image. For all of those, I manually added the check image. That period of transactions present in the feed but no bank attachments was 3/16/23 to 9/22/23.
9/22 and after, all transactions have bank attachements (check images).
When I hit the update button earlier tonight, a new transaction for Oct came in. So it is working now.
I think I just need to get a csv file from the bank website and upload it to QB.
Waiting for your reply before I do that, because you asked about my bank first.
Thanks!
I checked for alerts and messages. They only go back 90 days, so we don't know what may have been there in June.
Of what was there, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Nothing is in the excluded tab for 2023
OK, so I didn't wait.
I exported a csv from the bank and uploaded it, then added the check images and categorized the transactions.
I think I'm all good now.
Thanks so much for the help!!
Thank you for the update, Bradley.
It's my pleasure to hear that everything is working well now and you've successfully uploaded an Excel CSV file for your missing bank data. Since the transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them under the For Review section.
If you have any additional banking inquiries, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below. I'm here to assist you and provide the necessary help you need. Have a good one!
Thanks!
