Banking update functions just spins and does not update.

Hi, knowlesconsultin.

 

When a browser stored a lot of caches, it could cause problems like latency issues. As an initial step, you can press the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the page.

 

If you're still getting the same result, we can do some of the basic troubleshooting steps. You can use these shortcut keys depending on the browser you're using:

 

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P.

 

Once signed in, go back to your banking page and update your account from there. If it rectifies the issue, go back to your main portal and clear its cache to remove the browser's history or you can press CTRL+Shift and Delete key on your keyboard altogether. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

 

If the issue persists, I'd suggest visiting this link and proceed to Step 2What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online. On the same link, you'll find steps on how update your bank info as well as other references in solving banking errors.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

 

I have done the suggested trouble shooting, using all your suggestions including different browsers - both Safari and Google Chrome, cleared all caches, etc with no change in the results.  It just spins with no updates.  

 

I verified the connection with my bank and there seems to be no issues on that end.  The process used to work quite easily with automatic updates.

 

The only way I have been able to get it to work is by doing a transaction download from the banks site and then uploading the data back into quickbooks, which is a more time consuming and cumbersome process.  Having auto updates is one of the main reason I chose Quickbooks so I would like to have this resolved.  Any help is much appreciated.

I wish I could make it better, @knowlesconsultin. I wanted to make sure you're able to update your bank account seamlessly.

 

Let me start by thanking you for sharing the results after following the suggestions above. And the workaround you're able to get done with to avoid delaying your bank data.

 

Since the issue persists and you've confirmed your bank has no problem on their end, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. With the tools, our specialists have, one can let our engineering team look into why you're unable to update your bank account online.

 

You can connect to our team online by following the steps below:

 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Search.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Enter a few words describing how you're unable to update your bank account or be it the name of your bank under the What can we help you with? field.
  5. Select Continue.
  6. Click Chat or Callback.

Another option, utilize SlickConnect for the time being. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

Same here!

We have 5 accounts that haven't updated since 11/18/2021. This is the first time I've seen this occur.

Unfortunately, support is closed for the day, and according to status.quickbooks.intuit.com, all systems are functional. Hopefully a member of their IT support see these posts, as you're not the first to post about this.

** NOTE: Opening QBO in an incognito window did not help. Also tried updating the accounts in the QBO Android App (latest version), and still no update.

QBO Engineers have fixed this issue! Everyone log out, log back in, and update those accounts! :)

UPDATE:

Well...it WAS working 7 hours ago when the issue was said to be fixed. Now, the issue has returned. Unfortunately, QBO engineers will need to re-evaluate this matter and ensure a permanent fix, as we are nearing the holidays and month-end.

 

Any QBO Support staff that see these threads, please ensure this case is opened once again, with high urgency.
