Join nowHello there,
I have an admin access to QBO and recently set up Bill Pay. My current authorization status in Bill Pay is Nominated (Complete setup). My query is that I am not based in United States and therefore do not have a US address that is required for verification. What is the process to include Non-residents for approval/authorization of transactions in Bill Pay?
Regards
SN
Hello, SN.
Thanks for your interest in the Online Bill Pay feature! I'll lay down a bunch of details regarding the Bill Pay availability and some options for you.
As what the verification requires, the Bill Pay feature needs a US-based bank account and physical address. So, this is intended for US customers only.
Since you're outside the United States, there are two options for you to pay your bills.
There might be a third-party app that caters to both US and non-US residents. You can browse for one in our App Center website: https://apps.intuit.com/.
Another option is to pay your bills outside the program using a third-party payment service, and manually record the transaction in QuickBooks.

Do you also need to take care of your bank transactions and bring them over to QuickBooks? You can find the steps and details from this article: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Hello there
Would you be able to let me know which of the apps in your store provide the service wherein Non-residents are able to approve payments?
Thanks,
SN
Hi there, savita-clearnexu.
We're unable to suggest a specific app to use, I'd encourage you to go to the Apps center inside QuickBooks Online. From there, you're able to see hundreds of apps to integrate to help run with QuickBooks.
Here's how:

Keep us posted if have any other concerns or further questions about managing your bills or other transactions in QuickBooks. Wishing you all the best.
Hello there
That is a very inappropriate response. QuickBooks as a provider of service should be able to tell their customers which apps would suit our requirement. Going through all the apps is a tedious task!
Please assist.
Hi there, savita-clearnexu.
I recognize that time is important when running a business. I’m here to assist you with finding an app that’ll let non-US residents approve payments.
Each business has a unique structure, and it's the same with tracking transactions. That’s why we’re unable to recommend which app to use.
I checked the QuickBooks Apps Center and found that Veem and Bill.com allow paying bills and receiving invoices payments internationally. You can read customers’ reviews and ratings to help decide which one will suit your business needs. For further information about these applications, I suggest contacting their customer support.
For future reference, the following article provides detailed information about managing bills and vendor payments: Online Bill Pay. It includes some links on how the tasks you can do using the app.
Don’t hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other Online Bill Pay questions and other vendor related-concerns. I’m always ready to answer them for you. Have a great rest of the day.
Thanks for the note. Could you let me know how do you upgrade from Bill Pay to Bill.com? When I try to log in to Bill.com, it is telling me to first unsubscribe from Bill Pay. Also, will I have to enter the vendor bank account details again if I upgrade to Bill.com?
SN
Upgrading to Bill.com is easy, savita-clearnexu. I'd be delighted to share the steps to ensure you're able to complete the task effortlessly.
Having the two applications running concurrently for the same QuickBooks account isn't an option. With this, I'd suggest unsubscribing from Bill Pay before connecting to Bill.com.
Also, Bill.com is another service that offers different features. Hence, it doesn't migrate vendor bank account details.
Before canceling your subscription, please make sure you don’t have any pending transactions. Once you're ready, follow these steps:
After that, you can now subscribe to Bill.com. Here's how:
You can also check out out this article to see the comparison between the two apps: Bill.com app vs Online Bill Pay.
Additionally, I've included this article that'll help you track bills and record the payments in QuickBooks Online: Enter Vendor Transactions.
I'm only a few clicks away if you need assistance in moving to Bill.com, savita-clearnexu. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.
Before I got a reply from your end, I clicked on "Upgrade to Bill.com". I can see that Bill Pay and Bill.com is active. How to fix this?
Is there someone who can guide me by checking the account?
I appreciate you for bringing this concern in the Community, @savita-clearnexu.
