Can I print a prior months bank reconciliation that has been completed?

Yes, you can print prior bank reconciliations, frank10.

After completing a bank reconciliation, QuickBooks Online (QBO) automatically creates a reconciliation report.

Let me walk you through the easy steps:

  1. On the left navigation panel, select Reports
  2. In the Find report by name search bar, type Reconciliation Report
  3. Select Reconciliation Reports
  4. Choose the Account and the Report period for the reconciliation you want to print.
  5. Under the ACTION column, click the View report link.
  6. Then choose the Statement ending date.
  7. Once the reconciliation report is pulled up, click the Print icon at the upper-right side of the report.

You'll want to read through this article for more information on how to view, print or export a reconciliation report

Thanks for checking this out with us, @CASTforChrist,

Viewing Reconciliation reports for Standard users with View Only access is currently unavailable. This is because they don't have the access rights to view or make changes in the Banking page.

To learn more about managing users in QBO, see this articles:

Can I print a prior months bank reconciliation that has been completed?

I'm happy to guide you today so you'll be able to print your prior months' reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @mikeysmrs.

You can open the Previous Reconciliation report so you'll be able to print your previous reconciliations. If you're using QBDT Premier, Accountant, and Enterprise, you can get reports for your last 120 reconciliations. However, the report will just show you the most recent reconciliation if you're using the QBDT Pro.

To run the previous reconciliation report and print it, follow these steps:

  1. Select Banking from the Reports menu, then pick Previous Reconciliation.
  2. Select your account under the Account section, and the statement ending date you want to print.
  3. Customize the type of report you want to open and include in it.
  4. Tap on Display to open.
  5. Click on the Print button beside the Zoom out icon to print the reconciliation.

For additional information about this report, check out this article: Get reports for previous reconciliations in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, here is an article you can read more about reconciliations in QBDT: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Post again if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!

Hey there, @baysalr.

Glad to have you here in the Community. Once on the History by Account screen, you'll see a breakdown first by year. To see specific months within a given year, hit the Dropdown arrow. Only months that were reconciled using the Reconciliation tool in QuickBooks Online will appear in this report. If you imported from QuickBooks Desktop or manually reconciled transactions in the register, those won't appear in this report. You can find the Statement Ending Date under the first column on this report. You can also specify the date range using the Report period box. I've included a screenshot below to outline how you can find this information.

Hey there, driley1972.

Welcome to the Intuit Community. Let’s run the Previous Reconciliation Report to view the previous year's reconciled transactions.

With just a few clicks, you can accomplish this task in QuickBooks. You can get reports for the last 120 reconciliations if you’re using any of these versions: Premier, Accountant, and Enterprise.

If so, I laid out the steps below to accomplish this task. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu on the top and choose Banking to select Previous Reconciliation.
  2. This will display the Select Previous Reconciliation Report window.
  3. From there, choose which type of report to run: Summary, Detail, or Both.
    recon.png
  4. Then, mark the radio button for the transactions to include in the report.
  5. Click OK to confirm the action.
    recon.png 1.png
  6. On the Reconciliation Report page, hit the Print icon to get a copy of the information.

If you’ve reconciled for more than 120 times, change the system date of the computer to your desired period. This way, you can print your previous reconciliation.

Let me share this guide for additional information about running a reconciliation report. It provides an overview of how to export the information to Excel:

Get reports for previous reconciliations in QuickBooks Desktop.

Can I print a prior months bank reconciliation that has been completed?

On the desktop version I was also unable to choose a prior statement date.  I created a backup file for this specific purpose.  I opened that backup file and undid all of my bank reconciliations back to the month for which I needed the report.  Once I had undone all of the subsequent months, the previous reconciliation report gave me the month I needed.

Hello @LeeA,

Let's repair and fix your QuickBooks access so you can view your previous monthly reports of a reconciliation. But first, may I know the prompt you received so I can look for any reported issues related to the error message.

Nevertheless, here's how you can repair and fix your QuickBooks access:

  1. Download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  3. Select Program Problems.
  4. Run the app.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about the tool: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

Lastly, I've got you the following helpful articles below for ideas about reconciliation issues:

If there's anything else that I can help you, let me know in the comments. I'll be happy to help.

I am not seeing the option to select a statement ending date.  I'm sure I had that option in previous Quickbooks versions.

I appreciate you joining the thread, @SOAR.

If you're using QuickBooks Desktop Pro, the option to select the Statement Ending date is no longer available. Since the Previous Reconciliation Report only shows your most recent reconciliation.

Why would they do that?  Just because I'm using Pro means I won't ever need to print a previous bank recon?

Hello there, SOAR,

While QuickBooks Desktop Pro can only show your most recent reconciliation, you're recommended to saving your reconciliation reports in PDF. Or export them to PDF each time you reconcile an account.

For now, you can open your bank account from the Chart of Account. Then, print reconciled transactions from there. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu, then Chart of Account.
  2. Double-click the bank account you've reconciled.
  3. Click the Print icon, then filter the date range based on the reconciliation period.
    printregister.PNG
  4. Select OK, then follow onscreen instructions on how to print it.

You can check again this article: Get reports for previous reconciliations for additional information about pulling up reconciled statements.

Stay in touch if there's anything else you need. I'm always around to help.

Thank you and stay safe!

Your response is utterly useless.  You state that the option to retrieve previous months' reconciliations is no longer available now then cite and article that instructs you to how to do so as if it were - not helpful at all.

Can I print a prior months bank reconciliation that has been completed?

I recently moved from QBDT to QBO, and following these steps are not an option in my QBO. I have a significant starting balance discrepancy in QBO from what I reconciled the prior month as my final balance in QBDT. When I ran my balancing reports during the transition (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Summary) everything balanced to the penny. So I'm really lost now as to how to go about trying to figure out where my discrepancy is coming from when I cannot run a reconciliation history report from QBO.

Glad to have you here in the Community, @DC86.

Here are some things you should know after converting your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

When you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, you might notice balance discrepancies, there are missing transactions, reports are different and don't match.

You’ll want to check the AR and undeposited funds account balances individually, aside from running and comparing Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet standard reports in Online and Desktop.

The inventory calculation, Multi-currency, and cash basis are expected to result in report discrepancies. This is because QBDT and Online don't consider transactions, as paid the same way. And the transactions with 3 different types of currencies involved, doesn't convert to QBO at this time.

To make sure the beginning balance of the reconciliation is correct, please follow the steps below:

  1. On the Reconcile page, click the Edit info button.
  2. In the Edit information from your statement screens, verify that the Ending balance and Ending date information matches the information from your statement.
  3. Make any necessary changes to the Ending balance and Ending date.
  4. Click Save.

You can also sort the transactions by amount to ensure transaction details are accurate in your statements. Just click the Payment column twice on the Reconcile page and then double click the Deposit column. Then you can use the report to track all details you need to fix the discrepancies.

You might want to check this article to learn more about the migration and find out what data doesn't convert after transition: What to do after converting from QuickBooks Desktop for Windows to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know how this turns out. I'm just a few clicks away. Take care.

Can I print a prior months bank reconciliation that has been completed?

When I try to access my client's prior reconciliation reports from QBO by going to reports, reconciliation reports, I do not get a list of reconciliations to choose from.  Instead I get a screen that says "Match the book to the bank record" and it wants to me to link a bank account to QBO.

The same thing happens when I try to start a reconciliation - I can't proceed - QBO insists that I connect the bank account, which I DO NOT WANT TO DO.  Does QBO no longer allow you to reconcile your accounts if you're not "connected" -?????????????

This has happened with multiple clients and I don't understand WHY.  I'm SO frustrated.  I hope someone can help me because this is making me NUTS.
