Thank you for this--I did indeed discover that Moneythumb is the answer to my problem, in the form of a standalone piece of software called "QIF2QBO".  It effortlessly converts the file into the QBO I need to import into QB Desktop for Mac.

It took me a while to find this...hope your post and mine will help others with this annoying problem.

Thanks.  I can see where it could help, but paying another $300 a year when Intuit acknowledges this is a problem that needs to be fixed really bothers me.

You don't have to pay $300--what I got was a standalone piece of software with a lifetime license for $59, not perfect--BofA should absolutely provide this--but it works.  This is what it's called, if that helps you:

qif2qbo Convert, version 16.0.00.  I spent hours on phone with BofA, and eventually found someone who admitted that it was simply not possible to download transactions from a "personal" credit card into QB.

Anyway, maybe this info will be useful for you!!

Thanks so much.  In my case, these are corporate card transactions, not personal.  I'm guessing the pricing models have changed, like every other software.

A quickbooks "proadvisor" messaged me and asked me to call a number that he promised would help.  I tried, twice, and ended up getting the same person who told me that this line would not be able to help me. "Intuit would be better to answer this question. This is quickbooks." 

I'm running in circles, and all I want to do is scream and cancel my plan.

If the bank feed feature is critical to your business, it's time to explore switching to another accounting app. You can purchase a 3rd party conversion service if required.

Facing the same issue with BofA credit card downlead and i have tried the trial version of the converter however I am still getting an error from Qb when trying to import

Same for me!!!   And QB team was no help!! They don't get it!  I have 5 cards on with the same bank that I need to sync.. It WAS synced... Then QB had an issue and it stopped.  I tried to set it up again but it will only bring in one card! Soooo frustrated with QB.

I have the same issue and going crazy.  I have BOA personal credit cards that I want to import into QB desktop for Mac and BOA only gives the Quicken option for download.  It makes no sense at all given that QB is the leading accounting software for people that have both business and personal accounting needs.  I am able to download all of my business credit cards but not personal.

I read that someone above suggested an outside company that can convert Quicken files to QB files for import...but that service cost $25/month and only allows 5 downloads a month for that price.  I am looking at a years worth of downloads for multiple personal credit cards. I just can not believe that Bank of America and Quickbooks have not come up with some agreement to fix this.  I have personal credit cards that I have been using with BOA for almost 40 years so I like having that history....but I am giving up now and opening another credit card that will download into QB.  

Now...On to manually entering a year's worth of charges on several credit cards.  Can't believe I am having to do this is today's technology age.

I actually found a website that you can convert Quicken downloads to QuickBooks QBO files to use to import into QuickBooks.  It is free to use.  The website is qboconverter.com.  I have had luck using this with no issues.  Try it out.

Here's what I learned...B of A (and probably everyone) has a corporate level and a card level.  Payments and rewards are made at the corporate level, and transactions are charged at the card level.

Quick Books can only connect one of these.  I shifted mine to the card level and record payments as transfers from my checking account transactions.  The only thing that isn't covered is reward credits that you use to pay your credit card balance.  You can either journal that or take the money in another way.

I'm assuming you mirror the set up in Quick Books.  I did try to separate the accounts and connect them separately, but then you can't reconcile.

I  just found a work around!  In QB for Mac desktop, you can go to File:Import:Transactions:Credit Cards.  That will open up an import window.  You can export your transactions as a CSV file in Bank of America, then rearrange/add columns to match the QB import window and then copy and paste the transactions into the window.  Then select import.  It did work for me. 

See frustrated with Bank of America that there has to be a work around for QB since they do not allow exports of personal credit cards transactions in QB format.... but I appreciate QB coming up with a way to till import them.

Bank of America is horrible and practically makes bookkeeper view access impossible.  I also couldn't get QBO files for the credit card. So you have to export to excel and call Intuit and Intuit can tell you how to format the Excel sheet so you can upload it into QuickBooks Online Edition bank feeds area.
