Just to confirm, when you say the file comes over as a pdf, do you mean it exported in a PDF format? If so, it's possible that your bank only supports that file format.
Right now, QBO only supports CSV, QBO, OFX, and QFX files when uploading bank transactions into the program. Since you have a PDF copy, you'll first need to convert it to one of the supported file formats.
