Hello
I've been struggling for the last couple weeks after my bank (BECU) did a massive business banking platform update. I've been able to get my checking and savings accounts connected without issue with the QBDC connection. My credit card account through the same bank does not show up as an option in QBDC interface. I've downloaded QBO files but they will not import into the existing account.
I followed the instructions given to deactivate all online accounts prior to the migration date. I now have an unusable account. BECU suggested I change the file type from credit card to other current liability. While this does allow the qbo to be imported it completely breaks the account and I am unable to edit or match any past transactions as the credit card interface come use and the account types don't match. See attached screen shot. The only fix for this has been to restore from a previous version of the file from the last save (thank god for dropbox)
I'm sure this is a simple syntax problem in the qbo XML. I had to manually fix this with a different credit card several years ago. I can't remember exactly what I had to change but it think it was change <ACCTTYPE>CREDITLINE to <ACCTTYPE>CREDIT
Below is the header from the qbo that worked before the update
--code- OFXHEADER:100 DATA:OFXSGML VERSION:102 SECURITY:NONE ENCODING:USASCII CHARSET:1252 COMPRESSION:NONE OLDFILEUID:NONE NEWFILEUID:NONE --OFX- --SIGNONMSGSRSV1- --SONRS- --STATUS- --CODE-0 --SEVERITY-INFO --/STATUS- --DTSERVER-20210709033103.078 --LANGUAGE-ENG --DTPROFUP-20050531070000.000 --FI- --ORG-BECU --FID-3670 --/FI- --INTU.BID-11974 --INTU.USERID-XXXXXX --/SONRS- --/SIGNONMSGSRSV1- --BANKMSGSRSV1- --STMTTRNRS- --TRNUID-0 --STATUS- --CODE-0 --SEVERITY-INFO --/STATUS- --STMTRS- --CURDEF-USD --BANKACCTFROM- --BANKID-[removed] --ACCTID-XXXXXXXXXXXXX --ACCTTYPE-CREDITLINE --/BANKACCTFROM- --/code-
Here is the header from the file that will not import as a credit card

I'd like figure out a solution
My bank is saying it's Intuits issue. Intuit says it's a bank issue
Intuit wants $100 to even answer my questions which is absurd.
This has to be a simple XML tag problem but I cannot find it thru trial and error.
I would love some help
@Fiat Lux - ASIAIf you are not a spambot I am not interested in any $500 3rd party "solution" to this.
Don't worry. I don't have any solution to help you. Good luck!
The Community has your back, @Brianjonesphoto. We're here to help you import your credit card transactions.
I'm glad to hear that you've got a backup file. It's important to ensure that you back up our files regularly. This way, you can restore your data if you ever run into problems. Additionally, make sure you're using a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop before your import your transactions.
Then, make sure the file you downloaded from your bank is a .qbo file. This is the only type of file Web Connect can read. Otherwise, you can use a converter tool to change it into a .qbo file.
If you still see an error, I'd suggest reviewing notifications from your bank. Sign in to your bank’s website and check your messages. If you don't see one, move on to Step 4 in this article: Fix Web Connect import errors.
Furthermore, here's an article you can read for more details: Import web connect (.qbo) files.
Please let me know if you need further assistance with importing your bank's transactions. We're always happy to help.
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about importing your credit card transactions. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
This is the bank's error, not Intuit's or QuickBooks'. The bank has confused the credit line and credit card OFX account download types. Their suggestion that you set up a liability account to track your credit card reveals additional confusion about how QuickBooks works with credit cards.
The error is rather common. So much so that we've added a feature to our BRC OFX Cleaner to convert credit line files to credit card files. Once converted, then you can import the OFX/QBO file into QuickBooks, into the bank feeds center, for processing as normal.
Thanks. I've used your trial and it does fix the issue, but I really don't like the idea I have to pay $60 a year to fix my bank's error. It's nice to know there is a bandaide solution if I need it. Thank you.
