Does anyone know how to add the window for service charge and interest payment to the reconcile an account window, if it doesn't show up automatically?

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @julie106.

The fields for Service Charge, Interest Earned, and Finance Charge (credit cards) will no longer be displayed if the account you're going to reconcile is connected to online banking. This is because the entries will be downloaded automatically in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

However, you can add this manually in QBO.

Here's how to record a Service Charge:

  1. Choose Plus (+) icon and then click Check.
  2. Leave the Payee field blank.
  3. Select the Bank Account that has a service charge.
  4. Uncheck Print Later.
  5. Enter the Check #.
  6. Pick your Bank Service Fees account.
  7. Enter the Amount of the charge.
  8. Tap the Save and Close button to record the transaction.

Record Interest received for bank accounts:

  1. Select Accounting, then New to create a new interest account.
  2. Under the Account Type column, choose Other Income. Under the Detail Type column, pick Interest Earned. Under the name column, input any name which is applicable, then hit Save and Close.
  3. Click + New.
  4. Choose Bank Deposit.
  5. Under Add funds to this deposit, select the customer’s name who paid the interest, then select the interest account you just created.
  6. Enter a description, payment method and amount, then tick Save and New.
  7. On the Dashboard, you can notice that the deposit has already been recorded under Bank accounts.

Also, you can visit our Reconcile hub to assist you with every step of the process, such as correcting a balance and finance charges in QuickBooks.

Post again if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Take care always.
