With QuickBooks Desktop 2021 for Mac (Version 20.0.5 R6, Build 866), when I clicked to insert a check mark next to a cleared payment in a credit card account, I received the error message, "Change Matched Transaction? You have changed a transaction that matched a downloaded transaction. Do you want to record your changes?"
However, I have never downloaded transactions, and this one was entered from my Memorized Transaction List.
Is this a known bug?
Thank you,
David

Thanks for your prompt reply, DavidChB.
The unexpected behavior might be caused by a corrupted file. Let's run the Verify/Rebuild utility to detect the data damage. Here's how:
If you're still unable to attach anything, use the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix your company file.
Feel free to get back to this thread after trying the recommended steps. We're just around to help you.
In case it matters, I am using macOS Big Sur 11.6.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @DavidChB.
To confirm the prompt you've encountered when clearing a payment, let's verify if you use bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac. This is to see if the payment you marked as cleared was matched to a transaction on your bank feeds. To get more information about this, check out this article: Add and match transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Just in case you'll want to manually import your bank transactions in QBDT for Mac, here's the link that you can follow: Download bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Post again here if you have additional concerns about managing your transactions in QBDT. I'd be happy to assist you further. Have a great day ahead.
Thank you for your reply, Divina -- I appreciate your help.
I have never used bank feeds or downloaded bank transactions.
That's why I asked if this was a bug.

Hi Glinette,
Thanks for the tip but when I ran Verify Data it reported, "No problems have been detected in your QuickBooks data."

Let me know how it goes. I want to keep track of this downloading issue and make sure it gets taken care of. I'm here if you ever need further help with any other things in QuickBooks. Have a good one!
Thank you for the tip but QuickBooks Tool Hub, which allows access to QuickBooks File Doctor, seems to be for Windows only.
Also, I haven't experienced the error message again but I haven't had need to clear any more transactions.
Since Verify Data didn't find any problems, I am satisfied for now.
It's odd behavior though, and since I have just recently updated to macOS 11.6, Intuit might have an interest in looking into whether this is caused by a bug.
David
P.S. You mention a downloading issue, but just to be clear, it doesn't involve any downloading I have done, only an error message about downloading.
