Fix bank connection

I'm here to help you today, joeestradaqb,

Are you getting a bank connection error? If so, I've checked here on my end and found out that some American Express users are getting error 103.

If you're having the same issue, our Product Team is currently working to resolve this behavior. The workaround for now is to download transactions from your bank. Then, manually import them to QuickBooks using Excel CSV files.

Here's how to upload transactions to QuickBooks:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  3. Click the arrow next to the Link account button, then choose Upload from file.

  4. Browse the file from your computer, then click Next.
  5. Choose the bank account where you want to upload the transaction, then click Next.

  6. Map columns, then click Next.

  7. Review transactions you're uploading, then click Next.
  8. Click Let's go.

Once done, you can proceed to the For review tab to match and categorize those transactions. Then, add them to your bank register.

I also suggest chatting with our QuickBooks Online Support Team so they can add your account to the investigation (INV-50312). This way, you'll be able to receive updates via email once the issue is resolved.

If your situation is different, please update this post and provide more details about the bank connection. You can also refer to this article for troubleshooting steps: What to do if you see a bank error or bank transactions won’t download.

I'll keep this post while waiting for your response. Thank you and stay safe!
