Hello. What are some apps that you use to import iif files into QBO?

Open the IIF file in Notepad, remove the header and footer row, and save the file as a .csv file to import. Then you can use an importer tool to proceed

Good to see you here in the Community space, Justin. I'll share some insights about the iif files that can be used when importing data into QuickBooks.

In QuickBooks Online, you can import information using CSV, XLS/XLSX, and Google Sheets file formats. Please note that importing IIF files is currently not supported.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party importer tool available in the QuickBooks App Market or the Apps menu in your QBO account to import IIF files. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu.
  2. Select Finds Apps.
  3. Search for an app on the Find Apps to streamline your work field or click Browse Category to find a suitable app that works best for you.
  4. Once you have found an app, click it and select Get App Now.

Also, check out this article to answer some FAQs about importing data into QBO: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

If you have any questions about importing data or any concerns with QuickBooks, please let me know. I'm always here to lend a hand. Take good care.

What's the IIF file?  I'm trying to import QBO files.  How can I get TransactionPro to import QBO given that my desktop version is now unsupported?

@grinmoure

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise to import *.qbo files. Otherwise, use TP Importer with your QB Desktop 2021. It's a $199 one time license + you can get $100 cashback to purchase it through a partner.

Hello. What are some apps that you use to import iif files into QBO?

Hi @justin-schuhardt

If you are looking for an app that does not need you to edit the IIF in Notepad first.  You should look at Axis Online it can take IIF files and upload and import those directly into your QuickBooks Online Company file.

You can use one of the easy to use IIF templates with pre-configured maps making it even easier to get your transaction or list data directly into QuickBooks Online.

There is a free trial level so you can test out with your data.  Hope that helps.
