Help! I tried to set up bank feeds and Quickbooks shutdown

I am new to Quickbooks and I tried to set up bank feeds and the software shud down every time.

 

Please see the screenshot. Can anyone help? I am using Desktop Premier 2018.

I want to ensure you're able to set up bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2018. Let's get past the unrecoverable error.

 

Let's first update QuickBooks to the latest release to install the recent changes and improvements. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks.
  3. Click the Update Now tab.
  4. Click the Reset Update button.
  5. Click Get Updates.
  6. Click Close when the update is complete.
  7. Close and re-open QuickBooks.
  8. If you get a prompt, please make sure to click Install Now.

 

It's recommended to back up your company files before proceeding to the next troubleshooting steps. Here's the article that will guide you through: Back up the QuickBooks company file

 

Are you the only QuickBooks user? If yes, it could be the admin rights are damaged. If that's the case, we'll need to run the QuickBooks File Doctor to repair it.

 

If you're a regular user, you'll need to have the company admin delete and add you back to the company. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Company menu.
  2. Scroll down to Set Up Users and Passwords, then select Set Up Users.
  3. Select your name and click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.
  5. Click Add User.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to add you back as a regular user.

 

You can log back into the company file and try setting up bank feeds. If you still get the same error or QuickBooks still shuts down, please follow the additional steps (Solutions 2-6) outlined in this article:

Help! I tried to set up bank feeds and Quickbooks shutdown

After I report or not the software stop from working. It will be shut down automatically. What I did was just put in the the credit card account or bank account and it asks me if I want to set up bank feed. then run the bank feed wizards then it happens. 

 

This is very frustrating and I am new to quickbook and trying to bring the bank feeds. Is there any other way to do that? Thanks

Help! I tried to set up bank feeds and Quickbooks shutdown

Yesterday, I had the same issue.  After hours of troubleshooting, with the help of a QB tech support, we were able to fix the issue by simply updating the financial institutions directory.  It is not clear why this became corrupt, but the solution is posted here.  This is a simple fix, so recommend you give it a try before too much else.
