Join nowHello,
If you mean change the category assigned to a reconciled transaction, just go to that specific transaction and change the category to what you want it to be and click SAVE and Close.
As long as the amount and reconciled status of the transaction is not changing, this will not cause a problem. It WILL obviously affect how reports like your Profit and Loss show that transaction but I imagine that is your ultimate goal anyway.
How do I do this for MULTIPLE transactions?
I have deposits & expenditures that I would like to move into a different account category.
Hello there, @countrymanph.
Thanks for joining in this thread. For multiple transactions, you can follow the steps shared by our All-Star contributor, @MarshallA in changing the category for each transaction.
For future reference, check out this article: Unmatch downloaded bank transactions or move them to another account. It helps you learn about recategorizing your transactions in QuickBooks Online.
I'm always here for you if you need further assistance, @nonprofit23230. Take care!
