Love the ability to pay bills electronically through Quickbooks Desktop; it helps me match payments with bills. But I don't seem to have any visibility of payment status, other than looking at the register in QB. How to confirm that the bank has received the instructions, and that the payment is scheduled? We bank with Bank of America.
Hi there, georgia-water-tanks.
I'm delighted to know that you love this ability!
I think it's a wonderful idea to have another option other than checking the register. While this is not available on our side, I'd recommend reaching out to Bank of America to see if they're offering email notifications to confirm that they've received the instructions. Rest assured, I'll also prepare feedback here on my end and submit it our Product Development Team based on this interaction. After all, enhancements and improvements to QuickBooks functionalities are largely the results of feedback provided by users, such as yourself.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance. I'm always here to provide help and answer any questions that you may have. Thanks for dropping in, wishing you and your business all the best.
So, no? When I schedule a payment through QB, QB has no verification mechanism when or if the transmission went through?
You can check your payment history to see if your payment went through. QuickBooks has a list of successful and unsuccessful payments that you can check when after using the Online Bill Pay feature. For instructions, please check this article: Payment details and history in Online Bill Pay. Then, you'll want to go to the View a list of successful payments and See a list of unsuccessful payments sections.
You can also check the article for Online Bill Pay Payment Timing for additional reference.

I don’t know where that subject line came from. I use QB Desktop, not Online.
Thanks for letting us know what QuickBooks you have.
Still the basis if the payment goes through is when you see it posted in your bank statement.
