Hello there @pscripter,
I understand that resolving this issue is urgent, and I am here to help you with undoing a reconciliation.
Please note that during the reconciliation process, you can only undo one transaction at a time. If you need to start over completely, it is best to contact your accountant. They have access to a special reconciliation tool in QuickBooks Online Accountant that can undo the entire period at once.
To invite your accountant, please follow these steps:
- Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Manage Users.
- Go to the Accounting Firms tab and click the Invite button.
- Enter the accountant's information.
- Click Save.
- Let your accountant undo the entire reconciliation.
However, if you prefer to do it yourself, you can follow these instructions to undo reconciled transactions one at a time:
- Go to the Accounting menu, then select Chart of Accounts.
- Find the account and select View Register.
- To focus on this task, filter the register to only include the last 60 days of transactions.
- Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
- Select the box and click it repeatedly until it's blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
- Select Save and then close your register.
