I am connected to my bank account, but my transactions from last year are not visible. The ones from 2 years ago and the ones from this year are there. Why is that?

Using quickbooks single user. I reconnected by bank account after a long time. it showed transactions from 2 years ago to classify. I did that. I do not see transactions from last year. is there a limit to the number of transactions? why are last year's transactions not showing?

I am connected to my bank account, but my transactions from last year are not visible. The ones from 2 years ago and the ones from this year are there. Why is that?

Thank you for sharing the details about your missing transactions, Badri. I understand your concern, and I'm here to help clarify why some banking activities might not appear after reconnecting your bank account following a long period of inactivity.

First off, when you reconnect your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), it typically downloads the most recent transactions available from your bank. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions, while others can go back as far as 24 months. The specific limit on the number of transactions depends on your financial institution.

Now, if you're seeing transactions from two years ago but not from last year, it could be because those older transactions were imported during a previous connection and have been retained in QuickBooks.

Another thing to consider is that if your account was disconnected for a while, any transactions from the disconnection period may not be automatically downloaded when you reconnect. This could explain why you're unable to see the transactions from last year.

To rectify this, let's check a few things. Ensure that last year's transactions weren't incorrectly categorized or marked as excluded. You can do this by checking the For Review, Categorized, and Excluded tabs in the Banking menu to see if they are there.

However, if the transactions are still missing, you can manually upload them to QBO using a CSV file from your bank. Here's how:

  1. Pick a start date. (Check the dates of the existing transactions to avoid entering duplicates)
  2. Get transactions from your bank.
  3. Review the file format and size.

Then, to proceed with uploading the transactions, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.

  2. Click the tile for the account you want to upload transactions into.
  3. Select the Link account dropdown, then select Upload from file.
  4. Click Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, hit Continue

  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, click the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you like to import. Then, hit Continue.
  8. Click Yes, then Done.
